Shopify Rebellion entered the VCT Game Changers Championship 2023 as a favorite to win. This comes after representing Version1 earlier in the year. Longtime V1 member Loic "effys" Sauvageau holds the coaching role for the roster, so we asked him a question regarding the transition from V1 to SR.

The aforementioned hype for Shopify Rebellion proved to be correct. They bested EDG in the fastest international Game Changers series ever. The return to LAN by its veterans and debuts of its new stars was everything we hoped it would be.
Were there any hiccups along the way? That's what we wanted to know from effys. Just weeks before the championship tournament, Shopify Rebellion announced their acquisition of the roster. The team structure was not changed, but we never truly know the behind the scenes facts in these situations.

Thus, we asked the coach if there were any difficulties in moving from V1 to SR so close to the VCT Game Changers Championship 2023. Did organizational changes disrupt their attempts to prepare? Here's his response:
"The transition was super smooth. It was seamless. Everything that was agreed on by V1 got honored by SR. We had a really nice boot camp here. The boot camp helped a ton, in my opinion. We were here before, so we had time to practice, get used to the food, the schedule, everything. Honestly, it was a very very smooth transition from all of us. And we're quite happy with where we landed."
It's good to hear that there were no issues. And even if there were, we would have never known without effys' insight. Shopify Rebellion looked utterly dominate in their first series. They'll look to keep that up as they progress through the playoff bracket, facing off against the best Game Changers teams in the world.
