Riot Games unveiled changes the VALORANT competitive league will receive. Among these announcements were the locations for VCT Champions 2026 and 2027.
Where will VCT Champions 2026 and 2027 be held?
A presentation by Anna Donlon, VALORANT Studio Head, and Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports, revealed that VCT Champions 2026 will be held in China while Champs 2027 will be in the Americas.

This news comes after Faria disclosed the locations for VCT 2025 in a leaked video. In 2025, the VCT league structure and schedule will be changed. For the Tier-1 tournaments, the changes include a more spread-out competitive season and the continued use of Championship Points.
VCT Challengers will be made to support Academy teams from franchise organizations, among other changes.
Meanwhile, Ascension is getting a significant rework to consolidate regions - breeding a more competitive atmosphere within the tournament.
The extended competitive season means fans will have less downtime between professional matches. The season runs for longer, meaning team supporters can follow their favorite squad even more.

Riot Games lifted the veil on these changes during the VCT Champions 2024 Media Day conference. Other notable personalities include John Needham, President of Esports and Publishing, and Andy Ho, Executive Producer.
Donlon and Faria explored the possibility of a separate competitive circuit for console players. VALORANT was made available on consoles a few weeks back.
VALORANT is also being developed for mobile, but there is no definite release date yet, according to Donlon. She emphasized the importance of bringing the authentic VALORANT experience to mobile players. It will release "when it's ready," says Donlon.
