OverActive Media and women in esports

“We continue to focus on audience growth and are aware of the female gaming community and the appetite for relevant content,” Alyson Walker, the chief cmmercial officer at OverActive Media, said. “VALORANT Game Changers is the perfect addition to our existing esports teams, and we’re excited to support the competitiveness of the League while driving more inclusivity in esports.”

Adam Adamou, the organization's interim CEO and chief strategy officer, noted how OverActive supports the path to pro. For example, the esports organization is involved in Overwatch Contenders and Call of Duty Challengers.

“VALORANT is today’s fastest-growing esport, and we’re proud to support the ecosystem and give players of all genders an ideal pathway to pro play," Adamou added.

VALORANT Game Changers is a tournament for women and non-binary competitors. The signing of this new team also means OverActive's continued investment in the MAD Lions brand.

It's also part of the esports organization's ongoing focus on women in esports and gaming. Just a few weeks ago, OverActive partnered with The Collective to champion gender equity and women in sports, culture, and entertainment.
