100T bang has returned to his former home, aiming to re-establish his impact and prove his value during VCT Americas 2026: Stage 1.
A year after departing for a new team, Sean “bang” Bezerra has returned to his former organization, 100 Thieves (100T). Following a less-than-ideal start in Kickoff, he is now looking back on track as the team pushes for its first regional trophy since 2024.
In an interview with esports.gg, he reflected on reuniting with former teammates, the support from the community, ongoing meta changes, and his renewed mindset heading into VCT Americas 2026: Stage 1.
100T bang returns home
“It’s different because it was not the same team I was on. It’s different from all the iterations that I’ve been part of in the past, but it’s also very much the same as it was before,” bang commented on his return to 100 Thieves one year later. “At the same time, it feels the same because Cryo and Asuna are here, and it’s a nice combination. We also have fresh looks at the game that I wasn’t aware of when I first joined, which is pretty good.”
Back in 2022, 100 Thieves were still competing in Tier 2 before earning promotion. In 2023, bang made his debut on the main stage, but it was the following year that he truly began to see the results of his development.
The team went on to win VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1 and secured qualification for Masters Shanghai, where they finished 4th on the international stage. They carried that momentum into the next Americas split, before closing out the season with bang’s transfer to Sentinels. One year later, bang is back.

The iconic trio
The trio behind much of the organization’s success has reunited where it all began. For the 2026 season, bang has rejoined Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk and Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban, bringing the core trio back together once again.
“We’ve all grown, and they’re not exactly the same people I first played with,” bang said. “They’ve matured a lot. We just get along really well and understand each other perfectly. We know each other’s tendencies very well, so we understand what fights we want to take, and which ones we don’t.”
The player expressed confidence that their synergy would come naturally, saying, “I’ve played with them for so long, it just becomes easier to play together,” he added.

For 100T bang, the community has been nothing but welcoming. “They welcomed me with open arms, and it feels great,” he commented. “Obviously, I got the joke here and there about being a traitor, joining another team, and leaving, but it was very heartwarming. I really appreciate every single one of my fans and all the team fans who were not toxic or weird about me leaving and coming back.”
100T bang on the meta changes and the new agent: “No one cares about Miks.”
For bang, sadly, no one in VCT Americas will care about the newest agent, Miks. While he has lost some time testing the agent in a custom, he can for sure affirm that he is inferior to the other controllers in-game. “I’ve seen some players in Challengers who played Clove are now switching to Miks, which is interesting, but I think he’s weaker on most maps,” he explained.
At the same time, bang is sure Yoru is dead in the game and won’t be a viable option in the near future. “I think they killed him a little too far. He is not viable now,” he commented. “But the nerf to Waylay was actually a good change. It was impossible to play against them. There were moments where you didn’t have any counterplay for her.”
The player believes the game is slowly going in the right direction, but the double duelist composition will still be an option. However, he thinks new agents might appear in Yoru’s place, such as Neon, Phoenix, or even Jett. “We are going to see more of a duelist variety.”
As for Timothée “Timotino” Lavigne Dupont, one of the biggest Waylay abusers, 100T bang is not worried about him. “He even told us he’s bored playing only Waylay,” he laughed. “I understand his pain because I was in that place before. I think he’s happy that she got changed and he can now have more duelist flexibility.”
Fixing early-season kickoff mistakes
Although Omen may be in his weakest state so far, 100T bang still believes he can better showcase his strengths while playing the agent. “I think Omen is the most skillful expressive controller agent in the game. Brimstone, Clove, all of them are pretty straightforward. But Omen, I feel like there’s more to it. If you’re good with him, it shows.”
Ahead of the VCT Americas 2026: Stage 1, bang reveals the team has learned a lot from their previous performance. Instead of calming down and playing the fights, the team would rush through some moments, speeding up situations they didn’t need to. “Sometimes, we’re too chaotic. We realized that, when we play slower and controlled, we make insanely good decisions,” he explained. “We need to find that balance.”
In his opinion, the European coaches definitely bring a more disciplined strategy, but they recognize their strengths in their chaotic gameplay. “They encourage us to play our own game and to be comfortable. They are allowing us to flourish, and they also understand we don’t always need a super fundamental and disciplined playstyle to win the games.”

On April 11, 100 Thieves returns to the VCT Americas stage to play Stage 1. The opening match will be against Evil Geniuses, followed by Sentinels, NRG, KRÜ Esports, and FURIA.
