Secure your Ubisoft account with 2FA

Two-factor authentication is one of the most secure ways to protect your data and accounts in 2024. The 2FA is optional, but it is required if you play Rainbow Six Siege competitively. So here’s a short guide on how to set up Two Factor authentication (2FA) on your mobile app.

How to enable 2FA on the Ubisoft mobile App?

Here’s how to enable two-factor authentication on Ubisoft Mobile App:

  1. Navigate to the Security Page
  2. Click activate in the two-factor authentication section
  3. Select your authenticator app of choice

Once you go through the above steps, you will also be asked to enter your phone number. This method will be used as a last resort, in case you accidentally delete your 2FA app or you lose your phone.

After you add the recovery phone number, you will receive an email with further instructions. You can follow the email’s instructions to set up your 2FA. You will also receive a set of six backup codes, which you should save properly in case of an emergency.  Recovery codes are unique, single-use codes that you receive when you set up 2-Step verification on your Ubisoft account. If the email backup codes are lost, you can potentially reset your account via email, but we recommend safely saving the backup codes.

These recovery codes will be sent in an email from [email protected] with the subject line 2-Step Verification Recovery Codes. If you cannot find this email, we recommend checking your SPAM or Junk folder.

The Rainbow Six Siege marketplace which will release in mid-2024 will require users to have 2FA activated on their account. The marketplace will see Ubisoft take a 10% cut off all trades, but it will also allow users to buy and sell cosmetics. Users can place buy or sell orders for their preferred cosmetics on this marketplace. You can read more about the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace here. More details are announced along with the full reveal of Operation New Blood
