We expected this guy to shake a somewhat settled competition of SF6, and he sure does this. The first trailer of Alex proves the character is aiming even for more: with a big shift in his personality vibes and a visually awesome moveset.

It’s been a while since the addition of C. Viper, and the game has not received much changes during this content break. The community was hungry for an exciting announcement, and the teaser trailer for Alex in Street Fighter 6 certainly hit the spot.

The guy feels fresh joining the newest instalment. The personality shift is tangible, so maybe Alex took some presentation lessons from Armor King in TEKKEN 8?

SF6 Alex: Teaser trailer

The video starts with a nasty move. Alex has a match against Andore, and when the opponent offers a handshake, Alex drop-kicks him in the face. It’s obviously extremely disrespectful, and thus Alex clearly pictures himself as a bad guy.

This contrast to his previous image in SFV and Street Fighter III is clearly confirmed by the general behavior and look of Alex.

He was announced as a “dark devil with no allies” in the virtual arena. The crowd did not like this heel turn, but Alex did not care. He just unleashed a series of mighty moves and even choked Andore.

Hybrid grappler: Moveset hints in the trailer

While it’s too early to properly discuss the moveset of Alex in Street Fighter 6, we can still distinguish some clear hints in the teaser trailer.

In response to Andore’s attempt to approach from behind, Alex jumped and performed his stomp. That was followed by a headbutt. A kick and the Power Bomb command grab added lots of damage — at least it looked like that.

To seal the deal, Alex went for choking his opponent, which looks like a move from Street Fighter III.

The release window for Alex in SF6 is stated as early spring 2026. He is part of Year 3 Character Pass: Sagat and C. Viper are already out, while Ingrid is planned for late spring.
