VTuber Otsuka Ray trends after heartfelt message to fans as daughter starts kindergarten

"My daughter Reika will be starting kindergarten this spring.

As a single mother, the fact that I’ve been able to raise my daughter safely up to this point is all thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. Truly, thank you so much.

Back then, when I unexpectedly found out I was pregnant, I was filled with overwhelming anxiety. With both my parents in and out of the hospital, no siblings, and no one close to rely on, I wondered: "Could I really raise a child properly on my own?"

But my father, who passed away last year, gave me the courage to go through with it when he said, “I want to see my grandchild’s face.” I still remember that during childbirth, when my condition became critical, the doctor asked my father, "Which life do we save?" and how he wept. Yet, despite it all, Reika fought her way into this world.

Looking back, I’m so glad I was able to bring her into this world. I’m so grateful to have met someone as precious as Reika.

From the day she was born until today, I’ve loved her more than anything in this world, every single day.

Of course, life hasn’t been easy. Because I’ve always been physically frail myself, I wanted Reika to grow up as strong as possible, so I breastfed her until she was three. And precisely because I’m a single parent, I chose to become a VTuber so I could spend as much time with her as possible.

Things didn’t always go smoothly, and there were days I had to rely on savings from my idol days. But little by little, the number of people supporting me grew. Reika has grown up right alongside me during my streams. The baby who once knew nothing has now learned to speak, to sing… and is about to become a kindergartener.
