Read here to get a recap of the entire story of Dr Disrespect's mysterious Twitch ban. You can also understand the context of the story with the timeline below:

The accusation against Dr Disrespect and the reason behind his Twitch ban

A former Twitch employee, Cody Conners, unleashed chaos in the streaming world with his recent accusations. He formerly worked for Twitch in the Strategic Partnerships department, according to crunchbase. Although he has long left the purple platform, he just recently dropped a serious accusation involving Dr Disrespect and the reason behind his Twitch ban four years ago.

He got banned because got caught sexting a minor in the then existing Twitch whispers product. He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon. The powers that be could read in plain text. Case closed, gang.

In a follow-up Tweet, Cody Conners said:

No one made the wrong decision, fuck him and his boys.

Although he did not drop any names, the internet quickly connected the dots and fingers pointed at Dr Disrespect. The ex-Twitch employee detailed that Dr Disrespect was chatting inappropriately, or sexting, with an underaged user using Twitch Whispers. Twitch Whispers was a direct message system on Twitch which allowed any Twitch users to privately message other accounts. He was also planning to meet up with the user at TwitchCon, a gaming convention for the purple platform.

Dr Disrespect responds to the serious allegations: "No wrongdoing was acknowledged"

With many social media accounts quickly reporting on the allegations, Dr Disrespect also gave a response just hours after the issue exploded. However, his response was a little too tame which sparked another wave of unsatisfied replies.

I get it, its a hot topic but this has been settled, no wrongdoing was acknowledged and they paid out the whole contract.

Dr Disrespect replies to Jake Lucky

Esports journalist, Jake Lucky, reported on the ex-Twitch employee accusations on his Twitter/X account. Under the post, Dr Disrespect replied and stated that the issue has been solved and Twitch has also paid out his whole contract.

The internet was not content with his response. Most of them pointed out how Dr Disrespect didn't even deny the allegations. But some also stated that it could be because of legal restrictions.

UPDATE: Dr Disrespect posts a longer statement in response to the allegations

After almost an entire day, the internet hasn't stopped talking about the hot topic and Dr Disrespect followed up with another response. He stated that he didn't do anything wrong and that everything was settled. Once again, he did not directly deny the accusation.

Listen, I’m obviously tied to legal obligations from the settlement with Twitch but I just need to say what I can say since this is the fucking internet. I didn’t do anything wrong, all this has been probed and settled, nothing illegal, no wrongdoing was found, and I was paid.

Supporting statements on Dr Disrespect's allegations

At first, many people doubted that it was a serious statement and could just be a "troll" post. However, well-known journalist Rod "Slasher" Breslau made a post that seems to indirectly address the allegations. Slasher is known as a journalist who often gets quick inside scoops and would leak them to the public. He recently posted and seemingly sub-tweeted Cody Conners accusations and said: "I did not lie."

This likely refers to Slasher's Tweet four years ago. In 2020, after Dr Disrespect's Twitch ban, he made a statement saying: "for several hours now I have been told from credible sources the reason DrDisrespect has been banned. however due to the importance and sensitivity around the subject I have refrained from going on it. i don't feel comfortable with it currently."

UPDATE: Another former Twitch employee also posted what seems like it could be linked to the Dr Disrespect allegations.

Dr Disrespect's Twitch ban also came during when sexual assault cases were rocking the streaming industry. Twitch had been targeting a couple of streamers who were then banned for misconduct. Twitch's vague statement regarding his ban was: "we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service."

Studio lead for Midnight Society responds

Robert Bowling, the studio lead for Midnight Society - a Dr Disrespect video game project, has also responded to the issue. He posted on X that he is now aware of the accusations and is starting an investigation to follow through.

I very deliberately mean “now aware”. I landed from Stockholm, reconnected, saw the tweet and immediately began an investigation to learn everything I need to know so I can ensure a full follow through.

Robert Bowling stated in his X replies

Nickmercs defends Dr Disrespect

Popular creator, Nickmercs, who is also a close friend of Dr Disrespect, posted a video in defense of the 2x. Nickmercs expressed his shock over the allegations and upholds the 'innocent until proven guilty' stance.

I've seen the tweets about doc. I'm just as taken aback as you guys are, but the fact remains that these are some crazy accusations. CRAZY. Big time accusations. Until we know more, until they have been proven with evidence, what's anybody talking about?
