Looks like Sun & Moon cards don’t have low hit rates after all, as one of its theme decks literally took a bullet that entered a Pokémon fan’s home.
A Redditor named LolaInSlacks88 posted on April 7 that a theme deck of Pokémon cards stopped a 9mm stray bullet from hitting them inside their home.
According to the OP’s story, a series of explosions woke them up from their room until they heard the sound of a falling object from their closet. Upon checking the closet, they noticed a hole in the wall and another one in a nearby Tupperware containing a box of Sun & Moon Roaring Heat Theme Deck.
The OP inspected the Tupperware and found a 9mm bullet inside. They also discovered that the theme deck’s box, including the cards inside, had successfully blocked the bullet’s trajectory — something the OP claims may have saved their life — as the shot was level with where they had been sleeping.

Police response to the bulletproof Pokémon cards incident
LolaInSlacks88's post received more than 10,000 upvotes on Reddit, sparking a range of reactions from the Pokémon TCG community, ranging from concerns for the original poster to some hilarious responses.
A Redditor commented that OP should grade the first Pokémon card that took the bullet’s impact, while others jokingly mentioned that Incineroar used its ability Intimidate to stop the bullet, as a reference to the Incineroar card featured in the Roaring Heat Theme Deck.
When asked if the OP already called the police to resolve the matter, OP confirmed that they recently filed a crime report and that the police took possession of the stray bullet. However, since the police announced in a letter that they don’t have enough information to prosecute or identify the responsible person for the incident, they decided to suspend the investigation but promised to keep it in their file.
The OP shared that they decided not to sleep in their room for a few days after the event and now consider Incineroar their "guardian angel Pokémon."
