The Iron Leg Pokémon comes with a new boost in an upcoming Raid Day debut.
Pokémon GO players will kick off October with the debut of another new Mega Pokémon, Mega Metagross, during its Raid Day event.
Even without its Mega form, Metagross is already one of the top Steel-types in Pokémon GO, ranking sixth among the best Steel-type attackers. Its Shadow variant performs even better, climbing to fourth place for Steel and securing a spot in the top ten for both Psychic- and Bug-type attackers.
Metagross is known for having four brains, giving it the intelligence of a supercomputer. Apart from its exceptional analytical skills in combat, it also uses its physical strength to overpower foes and hold them in place with its four legs.

Mega Metagross Raid Day in Pokémon GO
Mark your calendars for October 4, when Mega Metagross Raid Day takes place from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. local time.
Event bonuses
- The cap for using Remote Passes will increase to 20, from 5 p.m. of October 3 to 8 p.m. of October 4 PDT.
- In addition to the free Raid Pass that you get if you don’t have one per day, you’ll also receive five more passes, free of charge.
- Increased odds for encountering a Shiny Metagross after every raid.
XP Celebration Event extra bonuses
Like the Mega Camerupt Raid Day, this event for Mega Metagross also takes place while the XP Celebration Event is active. Hence, participants will benefit from the following:
- Double XP from catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
- An additional 3,000 XP for clearing raids.
- An additional 3,000 XP for clearing Max Battles.
Mega Metagross’ featured attack
Metagross that players will capture in the Raid Day Debut will have Shadow Claw as its Fast Attack. This move will also become obtainable via Elite Fast TM after the event.
