Bagon Community Day Classic: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks

Mega Salamence is a really good Mega Pokémon. Having a good IV Bagon, and lots of Bagon Candy and Candy XL is a worthwhile investment in Pokémon GO.

If you're grinding towards Level 50 the extra XP can be really useful. Use a Lucky Egg and you can get 6000 XP+ from a single Excellent Throw on a Bagon.

Of course, there are no Candy bonuses for this event. That means that Mega Evolving a Pokémon will be crucial to get extra candy. A mega level 3 Pokémon adds an additional 25% chance to get Candy XL.

Here are the Dragon-type or Flying-type Pokémon you can Mega Evolve during Bagon Community Day Classic to get more Candy:

  • Pidgeot
  • Pinsir
  • Aerodactyl
  • Ampharos
  • Sceptile
  • Altaria
  • Salamence
  • Latias
  • Latios
  • Rayquaza
  • Garchomp

Don't forget some other easy tips:

  • Don't catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into Bagon.
  • Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
  • Don't activate Lure's or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
  • Have fun!
