The Pokémon GO Carnival of Love 2024 event introduces shiny Oricorio variants to the game for the first time.

Niantic has revealed the Pokémon GO Carnival of Love event for 2024. If you still venture out to catch 'em all in this mobile title, you can look forward to loads of Pokémon encounters, a new shiny addition to the game, fun cosmetics, and plenty more.

Everything you need to know about Pokémon GO Carnival of Love 2024

The Carnival of Love takes place during Valentine's Day. That's the perfect time to experience this romance-themed event, as love is in the air.

Dates and times of Carnival of Love

Carnival of Love 2024 has a proper start and end time:

  • Start Time: Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time
  • End Time: Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 8 p.m. local time

You've only got a couple of days to bask in the love of this Pokémon GO event.

How to get Heart Trim Furfrou

During the Pokémon GO Carnival of Love 2024, you can swap your Natural Form Furfrou into a Heart Trim Furfrou. Here's how:

  1. Locate a Natural Form Furfrou in your Pokémon Storage
  2. Tap it to open its summary
  3. Select the Change Form button
  4. Choose the Heart Trim Furfrou for 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust

This is only available for the duration of the event.

For the first time ever, shiny Oricorio is available in Pokémon GO with the Carnival of Love. If you're lucky, you might encounter its specific style in your region:

  • Baile Style Oricorio: Europe, Middle East, and Africa
  • Pom-Pom Style Oricorio: Americas
  • Pa'u Style Oricorio: Africa, Asia, Pacific, and Caribbean Islands
  • Sensu Style Oricorio: Asia-Pacific region

Flabébé is also available in this event, but not as a shiny variant. Still, it has region-specific versions to find:

  • Red Flower Flabébé: Europe, Middle East, and Africa
  • Blue Flower Flabébé: Asia-Pacific region
  • Yellow Flower Flabébé: Americas
  • White Flower Flabébé: Very rare in all regions
  • Orange Flower Flabébé: Very rare in all regions

With all of that out of the way, here is every other boosted encounter in the Pokémon GO Carnival of Love 2024:

All of those listed, with the exception of Quaxly, have a chance to be shiny.

With just about every Pokémon GO event, themed Field Research tasks are available. If you complete one, you have a chance at encountering the following, with all having a possibility of being shiny:

  • Snubbull
  • Roselia
  • Spinda with a heart pattern
  • Clamperl
  • Luvdisc
  • Furfour
  • Stufful

Collection Challenge

You can learn more about the collection challenge for the Pokémon GO Carnival of Love event when it is live. The collection tasks will be laid out for you, but we do know that you'll be rewarded XP, Stardust, and an encounter with a non-shiny Roserade.

Next up is the avatar items for this event. You can purchase or earn items in Pokémon GO to customize your in-game avatar. There are several love-themed outfit options for you to choose from, but the big one for this event is the Luvdisc Tamborine Pose. It's up for purchase in and after the event.

Paid Timed Research, PokéStop showcases, and other bonuses

Lastly, there is a handful of extra content taking place in the Pokémon GO Carnival of Love 2024 event. One is the PokéStop Showcase. At different PokéStops, you can enter your biggest Buddy Pokémon, which must be Great level or higher.

There's also an exclusive bonus for trainers in Brazil. Brazilian players, to celebrate Carnaval, will earn double catch XP while the Carnival of Love event is active.

And then there is the Paid Timed Research. For $1.00 USD, the exclusive research mission expires once the event ends. Purchase it for access to Stardust, XP and x2 Incense rewards, along with five encounters with the heart pattern Spinda.
