Meanwhile, Sugarfree previously played for Timeless alongside Rupal and Vega. Currently, he's the youngest player on a pro Overwatch 2 team. As for Vega, he brings the support game to Toronto Defiant after his experience in multiple teams such as Timeless itself, Northwood University, Saints, and more.

Rupal is the common denominator here. When Florida Mayhem won the 2023 Overwatch League Grand Finals, he spoke at length with esports.gg about the virtues of strong teamwork. Meanwhile, Someone is known for the positive energy that he brings to the table. Will everyone's familiarly with each other result in good synergy in the OWCS?

As Toronto Defiant players now, Someone, Mer1t, Sugarfree, Rupal, and Vega will compete under a new format and train in OverActive Media's Toronto esports facility.

"The OWCS is a testament to the evolving nature of esports, and we are ready to make our mark in this new chapter," OverActive Media CEO and co-founder Adam Adamou said in an announcement.
