Overwatch 2 players get double XP weekend ahead of Season 9

It's double XP weekend again, which means a new season of Overwatch 2 is going to arrive soon! Here's everything you need to know about this Overwatch 2 double XP weekend event, what items are still up for grabs in the current season's Battle Pass, and more.

When you jump into the fray in Overwatch 2 from now through Feb. 12, you can gain double the amount of Season 8 Battle Pass XP after each match. Gaining enough of Battle Pass XP results in in-game rewards such as hero skins, sprays, Overwatch Credits, and more.

The game has a few Lunar New Year game modes that are available this weekend as well, so you can try something different to help you complete the Year of the Dragon challenges. In addition to the Lunar New Year brawls, you can play some prop hunt, too. The 2024 version of it includes the Lijiang Night Market map and changes to how to play as Genji.

If you have the free version of Overwatch 2 Season 8 Battle Pass, then you still have time to earn the Critter Egg Wrecking Ball at skin tier 10 and Beast Whisperer Zenyatta skin at tier 70. If you have the premium version of the Battle Pass, then the Junker Queen, Hazmat Reaper, Grafiteiro Lucio, Sawtooth Trapper Junkrat, Bonesplinter Mauga, and mythic Grand Beast Orisa skins are available.

Don't forget to complete all 200 tiers of the Battle Pass if you wish to collect all of the seasonal player titles. These can be earned after you reach tier 80. For Season 8, in particular, the player titles include Easy Prey, Scavenger, Pack Animal, Tracker, Nocturnal Creature, Aerial Hunter, Monster Slayer, and Behemoth!
