Overwatch 2 Year of the Dragon event release date
The 2024 Lunar New Year event for Overwatch 2 goes from Jan. 30 to Feb. 20. This means you have 20 days in total to duke it out in past Lunar New Year game modes, earn new rewards, and claim a free Year of the Dragon player icon.
Overwatch 2 Year of the Dragon event rewards
There are 12 Overwatch 2 Year of the Dragon event challenges in total. Completing them results in some free rewards such as Dragon Dance sprays, voice lines, player titles, and Battle Pass XP! If you haven't completed the current season's Battle Pass yet, then the challenge titled "The Emperor of Mischief" grants a whopping 20,000 Battle Pass XP upon completion.
Overwatch 2 Year of the Dragon skins
In terms of the new Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year skins, the game's Season 8 trailer teased one for Year of the Dragon Mercy. According to Blizzard, you can start collecting Lunar New Year skins through the in-game shop starting on Feb. 6. Skins include Turtleship D.Va, Dragonfire Bastion, and Mystic Swan Mercy.

- Mischief & Magic (5 versus 5)
- Bounty Hunter (6 players free for all)
- Capture the Flag Blitz (5 versus five)
- Capture the Flag (5 versus 5)
The Mischief & Magic game mode has returned for the Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year event. To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, it now features a new map dedicated to prop hunt! In this game mode, you play as either Kiriko or Genji in Lijiang Night Market. While Kiriko hides as different props, Genji's mission is to seek her out. The first team that wins three rounds claims victory.
Don't forget about the different Overwatch 2 Arcade modes as well. While Capture The Flag and the faster version of it features a brawl between two teams of five players, Bounty Hunter is a deathmatch free-for-all game mode.
