Overwatch 2 Freja trailer drops major lore tease with Emre Sarioglu

Blizzard has released a new trailer for upcoming damage hero Freja. The hero trailer, titled "The Hunt Begins," features Freja's dealings as a bounty hunter and the appearance of Maximilien! It also teases Emre Sarioglu, possibly hinting at what's next for the Overwatch 2 story.

Here is the full Overwatch 2 Freja hero trailer. The video begins with Maximilien checking the identities of some captured characters before Freja enters the scene. The two characters talk about their deal, with Freja mentioning some payment issues that happened last time.

After Maximilien asks about Freja abilities, he sends his underlings after her. However, Freja expertly dodges their attacks and demonstrates how she uses her Revdraw Crossbow. The demonstration ends in an explosion.

Maximilien then sends Freja her payment for the bounties. The omnic also reveals that he tested Freja to make sure she's the right one "for a problem no one else has been able to solve." He then shows Freja an image of a new target.

This character is none other than Emre Sarioglu. Emre is mentioned in the Overwatch Declassified book and part of a group photo featuring Gabriel Reyes (later known as Reaper), Ana Amari, Jack Morrison (later known as Soldier: 76), a young Pharah, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, Mercy, Cassidy, and Sojourn.

In addition to the Freja hero trailer, Blizzard released a dedicated comic about the upcoming damage hero. The new "Storm Chaser" comic is also read by Olivia Le Andersen, who is Freja's voice actress!
