Cyrax MK1: Gameplay and story revealed

After a short mid-season break, we’ve got fresh information about new Mortal Kombat 1 characters. Cyrax starts the gameplay revelation series. A new trailer shows what it’s like to play her. All the known details on MK1 Cyrax are here.

Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, announced the trailer for MK1 Cyrax via his social media account. We’ve got some interesting details from that small post. The character fights with sticky, follow, and pop-up bombs, damages opponents with spinning blades, and traps them with nets. The Mortal Kombat 1 Cyrax trailer shows all of these and more in detail.

The Cyrax MK1 trailer gives us a glimpse of the character’s story as well. First, She runs away from an unknown enemy, who shoots rockets at her. Then, Cyrax discusses attacking a wedding with Sub-Zero and really takes part in this mission.

The gameplay part of the trailer proves how quick Cyrax is in MK1 and how dangerous her bombs and net setups can be. She fights with Sub-Zero as a Kameo, so it could be a good team to use in the game.

At the end of the video, we can see the Fatality of Cyrax in Mortal Kombat 1. She jumps on the head of Johnny Cage, turns it around until it’s off, and smashes the head onto the corpse and then onto the ground.

This character is an assassin from the Lin Kuei faction. Cyrax was turned into a cyborg, and this was quite an upgrade for the fighting purposes. 

The role of Cyrax in Mortal Kombat varies from game to game. We could see the character as an antagonist, but in fact, Cyrax was tricked by others. Then, we had Cyrax as a helpful supporter.

MK1 resets the story quite significantly. Cyrax is a female character now, and more about her story should be revealed with the upcoming update.
