Valorant Mobile might be in the works according to latest reports. Riot Games is reportedly conducting feasibility checks for the mobile game.

Valorant is heading to mobile and the game developer is scouting markets for the game’s release. The North American company could announce a mobile game at E3 2021.

After the runaway success of Riot Games’ FPS title, the company is already at work for a mobile version. A report by IGN India confirms Riot’s efforts to release a mobile version of Valorant soon. The mobile version will target audiences in Southeast Asia, mainly India and Phillipines.

What is Valorant Mobile?

Riot Games is working hard to bring Valorant to Mobile to cater to its Southeast Asian player base. Tentatively named Valorant Mobile, the mobile game could soon come to Android and iOS.

A video by known leaker, PlayerIGN suggests an announcement could be imminent as soon as E3 2021. E3 2021 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 12 to 15, 2021.

Some of the biggest FPS games are making their way to the smaller screen. The Indian market is flooded by Battle Royale games such as PUBG mobile, Call of Duty and several others. PUBG mobile was the dominant game in the Indian market, but the government banned it due to political tensions between India and China. Other games have increased their presence in the market after PUBG Mobile’s ban. Apex Legends is also gearing up for a mobile version which will undoubtedly be targeted at the Indian players.

Dataminers found evidence of mobile controls in Valorant all the way back in 2020. The leaks included mobile controls such as double tapping, Walk Lock buttons and more. But Riot Games has not yet announced any plans to bring Valorant to mobile. Between IGNPlayer’s recent video and IGNIndia’s confirmation, all indicators point towards an imminent announcement.

When will Valorant Mobile Launch?

The developers have not yet confirmed the existence or development of the mobile version of Valorant. If the rumors are true, then mobile gamers can expect some news at E3 2021. However, the launch of the actual game might still be some time away.

India - The Mobile gaming warzone

The second most populous country saw a dramatic rise in internet usage after dirt-cheap data rates post 2016. High mobile phones penetration and cheap internet connectivity fuelled the mobile gaming market’s growth in India. The mobile gaming market in India is expected to touch $3 billion by 2023.

Despite the ban, PUBG Mobile still has more than 15 million monthly users in the country. The game’s parent company is already in the process of re-releasing the game soon.

Apex Legends is also set to release its mobile version later this year. Between Apex Legends and PUBG Mobile’s re-release, the mobile gaming space is up for some tough competition. Riot Games will have its task cut out as it seeks to launch Valorant’s mobile version.
