Will we get to see Uzi return to competitive play this season?
In a move no one saw coming, the iconic League of Legends AD Carry Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao is rumored to return to pro play as he joins EDG. The rumor was first reported early yesterday morning and has been picking up a storm, with fans going to the lengths of checking the EDG headquarters to see if Uzi is there.
League of Legends community reacting to Uzi's rumored return
The rumor first came about through the popular LPL Twitter account LPL Fanclub. They posted a comment from a verified user on the Chinese social media platform Weibo stating EDG Uzi is currently in the works. A while later, LPL Fanclub posted another Tweet noting Uzi had been listed on OBGG under the EDG banner.
This caused several reactions from popular figures in the League of Legends community.

After making a monumental return to the game with Bilibili Gaming, Uzi decided to step away ahead of the 2022 summer split. Across his career, Uzi has been plagued with health issues that have stunted his playing time in recent years. Uzi was only able to play nine games upon his return to the LPL. Uzi would announce on stream he is stepping back to focus on his health.
It will be interesting to see how EDG performs with their new ADC if Uzi does in fact join the organization. In the 2023 spring split, EDG had a disappointing end to what was a strong split for the organization. EDG finished second in the regular season but missed out on qualifying for MSI after falling to BLG.
