Matches in the lower part of the Round Robin standings are somewhat more intriguing than the dominant run of the leaders.
The top team of the LoL esports tournament First Stand is pretty clear at this point of the Round Robin stage. Hanwha Life Esports destroy anyone they meet, and only a miracle can help their remaining opponents. The situation with the elimination placements is much more uncertain.
Heading into Day 4 of the League of Legends First Stand 2025 event, Karmine Corp and Top Esports find themselves in a tough spot with a 1-2 set score. The first match of this competitive day sends one more team to this zone. Team Liquid and CTBC Flying Oyster don’t want to be there.
Victory in the TL vs CFO match at the LoL First Stand 2025 event still doesn’t guarantee qualification for the Playoffs. However, the winners have a better chance to play in the semifinal even if they lose the next battle. Also, the winning team becomes less dependent on the game scores and results of the other teams.
Team Liquid vs CFO really is an important match, and everything about it is here.

Match recap
The series featured a cautious but aggressive playstyle in both games. CTBC Flying Oyster went for fundamentals in Game 1, and that worked incredibly well for them. After an even start, CFO suddenly unleashed their beast mode and demolished Team Liquid.
The failure of the North American team in Game 2 was caused by their own overconfidence. TL earned an early advantage, and they started making unnecessary risky moves. CFO do not stand such disrespect, and it was punished.
CTBC Flying Oyster won to reach 2:1 on the First Stand 2025 leaderboard and become the first team to qualify for the Playoffs.
Team Liquid is not out yet, but playing HLE in the final game of this stage is stressful to say the least.
Game 1
After exchanging early kills, the teams shifted to aggressive but still very cautious playstyle. TL and CFO secured three Voidgrubs each, but Flying Oyster got themselves the first Dragon.
With a small gold advantage and the first turret destroyed, CFO leaned towards being stronger in this game. The biggest hope of Team Liquid was buffing up Gwen of Impact, and they did it quite successfully.
The advantage of CTBC Flying Oyster intensified when they secured Atakhan, won a team fight after that, and claimed a Dragon Soul. The Baron fight did not go TL’s way as well. With all the buffs on their side, CFO started a siege, earned an Ace, and destroyed the Nexus.
Game 2
Team Liquid started this game with active pressure all over the map, especially on the bot lane. The first promising win for TL was a successful attack on JunJia when CFO’s jungler tried to take a Dragon solo. Team Liquid got a kill and the objective.
Soon, TL won a fight around the Voidgrubs, and their advantage got quite real. CTBC Flying Oyster tried to catch the pace by securing the second Dragon and resisting TL’s random attacks.
At some point, it felt like Team Liquid became overconfident with their early power and started disrespecting their opponents. That approach cost them a few unnecessary deaths. And then, another such situation delivered an Ace for CFO.
CTBC Flying Oyster killed Atakhan after that. In a blink of an eye, the Taiwanese players were ahead with both kills and gold. They secured Baron and destroyed two Inhibitors. Even without finishing the Soul Dragon, CFO won another fight and destroyed TL’s Nexus.
After this match, Team Liquid has an even more difficult opponent. The American League of Legends team faces the Korean Champions and the First Stand 2025 favorites, Hanwha Life Esports.
The last opponent of CTBC Flying Oyster is also super serious: Top Esports. After losing to Karmine Corp on Day 3, TES players certainly don’t want to give away one more set at the event.
