Pre-verification kicks off on Oct. 8.
Riot Games has announced a new ticket verification system for the League of Legends Worlds (LoL Worlds) Final tickets. The new system requires buyers to verify their eligibility. This is done using active Riot Games accounts with verifiable LoL match history. The game developer previously postponed the sale of tickets in response to bot buyers.
The "Finals Ticketing Solution" requires gamers to pre-verify themselves before they can purchase a LoL Worlds Final ticket. After sharing their Riot Games account email on the Finals Ticket Eligibility page, players will receive a one-time use access code. This code will allow them to access the purchase platform. The page will be open from Oct. 8 at 6 a.m. PT to Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. PT.
After account verification, players will start receiving their access codes on Oct. 10. LoL Worlds Final ticket sales will go live on Oct. 11 at 6 a.m. PT on the invite-only AXS sales page linked in the verification email. Notably, the access codes do not guarantee a ticket.

LoL Worlds Final ticket sale Phase 2 to re-open on Oct. 11
Wave 2 of LoL Worlds Final tickets originally went on sale on Oct. 2. However, Riot Games postponed the sale over "significant bot activity." The developer also announced its intention to recover bot purchased tickets. This decision came after countless tickets found their way onto resale platforms like StubHub for up to 10x the original price. AXS' own ticketing platform also allowed ticket resale. Albeit that was at lower prices than third-party websites.
Riot Games' solution is one of only a handful of bot combat attempts in event ticketing. Many events, including concerts of artists like Taylor Swift, often face a massive volume of scalpers in their ticket sales, keeping true fans out of the ticketing queue.
