Here are the top 10 most-viewed League of Legends esports matches of 2025. To nobody’s surprise, T1 dominated the list.
2025 was a big year for League of Legends esports. We saw the first-ever three-peat in LoL esports history, with T1 winning Worlds. There were unexpected matches, upsets, and more. Here are the most-viewed LoL Esports matches in 2025.
T1 dominates most-watched LoL Esports matches of 2025
Unsurprisingly, the three-time World Champions in T1 were the most-watched League of Legends team in 2025. According to a report by Esports Charts, T1 generated over 195.4 million hours watched throughout the year. This is only 0.4% higher than their 2024 total.
In terms of matches, T1 was involved in 8 out of the top 10 most-watched games this year. They also garnered almost 65 million hours watched during Worlds 2025 alone. This equates to 47% of the event's overall viewership.
There are three instances of T1 vs Gen.G Esports on the list. Two were from MSI 2025, while the remaining were from the LCK 2025 Season. It's truly a shame that we were denied this classic matchup for Worlds.

A graphic by Esports Charts showcases the most popular LoL Esports matches in 2025 by Peak Viewers. This means it is counting the maximum concurrent viewers of a given match, and not total viewership.
10. T1 vs Gen.G Esports (LCK 2025 Season Playoffs)
This is the only non-international entry in the top ten. The two teams crossed paths multiple times in the year, both in regional and international events. However, eyes were on both T1 and Gen.G in the Lower Bracket Round 3 match of the LCK 2025 Season Playoffs.
By this point, both teams were already qualified for Worlds. However, T1's 2-3 loss to Gen.G Esports meant that the eventual champions would have to go through the Play-In stage against the LPL's fourth seed, which ultimately turned out to be Invictus Gaming.
9. Hanwha Life Esports vs. Gen.G Esports (Worlds 2025 Quarterfinals)
This was the only Worlds 2025 quarterfinal that involved a team kill, and it was between two tournament favorites.

For Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon of Gen.G, it was another shot at proving his greatness. On the other hand, Choi "Zeus" Woo-je was seeking success beyond T1.
Gen.G would go on to win this match, 3-1, but fell to KT Rolster in the semis.
8. T1 vs. Invictus Gaming (Worlds 2025 Play-Ins)
T1 and Invictus Gaming, two extremely popular teams, vied for the final Worlds spot in the Play-Ins stage as the LCK and LPL's fourth seeds, respectively.

Viewership being high for this match was not a surprise, especially with Invictus Gaming having Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok on the top lane. Not to mention, T1 was involved.
T1's victory against IG was the first stone they placed on their way to the three-peat.
7. T1 vs Gen.G Esports (MSI 2025 Upper Bracket Final)
T1 and Gen.G met in the upper bracket final of MSI 2025. Both were fresh off wins: T1 just swept BLG, while Gen.G took down AL.

This series went back and forth, but Gen.G eventually took the win, 3-2, to advance to the grand final.
6. T1 vs Anyone's Legend (MSI 2025 Lower Bracket Final)
After their loss to Gen.G in the UB Final, T1 went to face Anyone's Legend for another shot at the grand final spot.

This garnered a very similar viewership to the T1 vs Gen.G UB Final match, with only a 1% difference between the two series.
T1 went down 1-2 against the LPL's top seed, but they brought it back in the end to win 3-2.
5. KT Rolster vs. Gen.G Esports (Worlds 2025 Semifinal)
This is one of only two matches on this list that did not involve T1, and this match certainly deserved it.

It was a match between two mid laners, Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong and Chovy, both great in their own regard, but neither of their successes ever translated to a Worlds win. With the two fighting over a grand final spot and a chance to depose T1, all eyes were on them.
Much to the dismay of Chovy's followers, and to the delight of KT fans, the rollercoaster looked amazing. KT fans were finally allowed to get excited as they took down Gen.G Esports 3-1 and qualified for the grand final.
4. T1 vs. Gen.G Esports (MSI 2025 Grand Final)
The two LCK powerhouses rematched at the MSI 2025 Grand Final. While this only happened a mere three days after the last two clashed in the same event, the peak viewers increased by over 28%.

The fans who tuned in were treated to five more games of League of Legends between the two, but Gen.G Esports would go on to lift the trophy.
3. T1 vs. Top Esports (Worlds 2025 Semifinal)
Many were at the edge of their seats, wondering whether T1 would get a shot at a three-peat or if LPL's last remaining bastion of hope would triumph over them.

While this will be remembered as a clean 3-0 for T1, many Top Esports fans were disappointed by their lackluster performance against the eventual World Champions. Ultimately, Top Esports became just another notch on the LPL killer's hit list.
2. T1 vs Anyone's Legend (Worlds 2025 Quarterfinal)
Once the playoff stage of Worlds 2025 began, more viewers started to tune in. The quarterfinal match between T1 and Anyone's Legend was the last quarterfinal in the schedule, and the viewers who were eagerly waiting for T1's playoff form finally got their treat.

It's worth noting that by this point, Anyone's Legend looked like an extremely strong favorite. They got through the Swiss Stage 3-0, beating Gen.G, HLE, and CFO along the way. T1, on the other hand, had a shaky road, dropping games against CFO and Gen.G.
Perhaps, there were also "hatewatchers," who were present only to be witnesses to T1's downfall. They left empty-handed, though, as T1 took down AL, 3-2.
1. T1 vs KT Rolster (Worlds 2025 Grand Final)
The whole esports world paused as T1 attempted the back-to-back-to-back run. It felt like everyone tuned in, including those on esports betting sites, for this spectacle.
A separate report by Esports Charts also declared that this 6.75 million peak viewership that the Worlds 2025 garnered made it the most popular esports event of 2025, dwarfing the next event, MPL Indonesia Season 10, by almost double.

The five-game banger grand final that treated League of Legends esports fans around the world is the most-watched match of 2025. This match earned the most prestigious organization in LoL Esports history their third trophy in a row, their sixth overall, and Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung an MVP award.
