The LTA is the future of professional League of Legends for the Americas region.

The LCS for North America, LLA for Latin America, and CBLOL for Brazil are consolidating into one region: the League of Legends Championship of the Americas. Check out what you can expect from the newly formed LTA here.

LTA explained

Like the LEC and the LCK for 2025, the LTA will also have three splits of professional LoL goodness.

The region will be split into two conferences: LTA North playing in Los Angeles and LTA South playing in São Paulo. "These new formats are designed to drive regional rivalries while encouraging cross-regional play, all while maintaining competitive integrity and excitement for fans across the Americas," Riot stated.

Both North and South conferences will internally compete in a double-elimination, best-of-three (Bo3) full Fearless Mode. The top four North teams will play the top four from the South in a single-elimination Bo3 tournament with a best-of-five (Bo5) final.

The winner of this inter-conference bracket will represent the region in the first international LoL tournament of 2025.

LTA Split 1 begins on January 25, 2025.

LTA Split 2

Both conferences will play on their own for Split 2.

Split 2 begins with a double round-robin, best-of-one (Bo1) in each conference. The top six teams will then enter a double-elimination Bo5 playoff bracket, where the winner will be one of the two representatives for MSI 2025.

LTA Split 3

Split 3 will get an all-new format: Pick & Play. The base is a Bo3 format, but teams will select their opponent for the following week.

The Split will begin based on the teams' Split 2 standings. Then, for three weeks, the loser of each match can choose who their next opponent will be. The team they choose needs to have a better standing or Split 2 seeding as a tiebreaker) than them and must be a team they haven't faced yet this split.

Weeks 4 to 6 will see the bottom four teams try to stay alive. The top teams still play, but this time, the teams with the higher ranking get to choose their opponents. After Week 6, three teams from each conference remain and will play in the 2025 Americas Regional Championship for a Worlds slot and the LTA trophy.
