This is the match in the 2024 LoL Worlds Semifinals. It's a best-of-five (Bo5) match, and the winning team advances directly to the Grand Final. The other team must pack their bags and fly home. The LoL Worlds Grand Final will happen on Nov. 2.

T1 usually has a rough start to the season, struggling in the Korean league. But when it comes to LoL Worlds, they're unstoppable. Their presence, their dominance, and their knowledge are from another world. Will they be capable of defeating their biggest enemies? One thing is for sure: the fans are about to go wild in that arena and at home.
Gen.G wants to take that trophy home. They've never won, and now it's time to change that. But first, they must face their strongest opponent. Grab your snacks because this will be an incredible performance from the top teams.
LoL Worlds 2024 T1 vs Gen.G: Match Recaps

Game 1
Gen.G brought a very tanky draft for the game, but that was not enough to stop Gumayushi. A great dive on bot lane, which seemed very nice for Gen.G, ended up being disastrous: two flashes lost, and Zeu's Gragas didn't even die.
Both teams lane-swapped — a very trendy move in LoL Worlds 2024. Gen.G began to show some nerves. T1 took down three Voidgrubs while Gen.G secured the Drake. Keria made his presence felt in all lanes, providing assurance and support for his teammates. In a Herald fight, Oner attempted to engage. However, he died during what seemed to be a 5v5 fight. Gen.G secured both first blood and the first turret.
The game was balanced, with few confrontations between the two teams. Gen.G began to frustrate T1 by gaining significant map control and securing several kills and objectives.
After taking down Leona on the top side, T1 secured three kills while Gen.G managed to get only two. It was a poor play from Gen.G and a huge triple kill for Gumayushi. He remained unstoppable, finishing the game without a death. With that, the match ended for Gen.G, and the victory went to T1.

Game 2
Game 2 had two special spectators: Bin and Elk from BLG were in the crowd watching their future opponent in the LoL Worlds Grand Final!
Not only did we have a great crowd, but there was also a surprise in the draft: Oner's Kindred. Yet Gen.G’s confidence was remarkable — they approached this game differently. In the bot lane, Gen.G secured two kills, with the takedowns going to Skarner and Kai'Sa. What a great start for Gen.G!
Peyz evaded Faker and Kindred, while Canyon took down the three Voidgrubs, even managing to kill Faker in the process. The game was not looking good for T1. It stabilized with few confrontations, as both teams focused on pushing the side lanes. Gen.G slowly gained control of the game, making great picks and securing all the objectives on the map.
One by one, T1 was losing everything. What a beautiful performance from Gen.G, their confidence was so different from the first game! Gen.G just crashed T1's base and they won without any errors. It was almost a perfect game for them.
Game 3
Oner was read like a book, drawing the attention of four Gen.G players, and the first blood went to Peyz. Gen.G secured the Drake while T1 took down the three void grubs. Lehends did his best to protect Kiin, as the matchup against Gragas was tough for Jax. However, just when they thought T1 was recalling, Kiin was caught, and the kills went to Oner.
T1 tried to gain some map control by taking down the remaining three Voidgrubs. In an amazing fight, they eliminated two Gen.G players, secured the objective, and destroyed one turret. T1 began to look unstoppable, and the Renata Glasc ultimate was outstanding. The crowd went wild for Faker!
Lehends and Canyon were caught in a huge pick by T1. Kiin fell on the top lane, and the game started to look grim for Gen.G. By the 15-minute mark, T1 had established control, completely dominating the match. There was nothing Gen.G could do to turn the tide.
Gen.G tried to get a good pick, but it proved too difficult as T1's supremacy was unmatched. The Baron area was heavily warded, with T1 controlling every corner of the map. Victory was within reach: T1 won the third game, putting Faker just one match away from his seventh LoL Worlds finals!
Game 4
In the first few minutes, the game was already looking grim for Gen.G, as losing two flashes in the bot lane set a bad tone for this fourth game. T1 had a fantastic start, with the first blood going to Faker.
The game was slow in terms of fighting, but the gold difference heavily favored T1, leaving Gen.G far behind. Lehends struggled throughout the semifinal, getting caught repeatedly. A double kill for Zeus was a huge boost for T1, and by the 20-minute mark, the game was looking very promising for them. Gen.G had to regroup and focus.
On the top lane, Gen.G tried everything to stay still and get two kills. They did not want to give up that easily. Gen.G was trying to change the game's fate, but there was nothing they could've done. They managed to ace T1 and started to see some light, but their efforts were not enough.
Gen.G closed the gold gap with the ace fight and took down two turrets. However, T1 was determined not to let this semifinal extend to a fifth match. They wanted to win now. And they did. T1 secured their spot in the Grand Finals of LoL Worlds 2024.
