League’s girl group K/DA might make a comeback for next year’s Worlds.

Riot Games might have teased the return of their virtual girl group K/DA for 2025. Check out why we think there's a K/DA comeback next year.

Worlds 2025 teaser with K/DA

After the conclusion of the League of Legends 2024 World Championship, LoL Esports posted a teaser for next year's tournament.

You can hear the opening trill to K/DA - more in the video at around 0:29 - 0:33 in.

This is leading many to believe that this hints at a K/DA comeback when Worlds arrives in Chengdu next year.

Who is K/DA?

K/DA is a virtual girl group composed of League of Legends champions Akali, Ahri, Evelynn, and Kai'Sa. Respectively, the real-life artists performing are Jeon Soyeon and Cho Mi-yeon of K-pop group (G)I-DLE, Madison Beer, and Jaira Burns.

The four-piece initially debuted in 2018 with "POP/STARS." Later that year, the Worlds opening ceremony featured a live performance from the group.

As of the time of writing, the POP/STARS music video has over 600 million views, and the single has 360+ million streams on Spotify.

The group returned in 2020 with "MORE," as well as the "ALL OUT" EP. Their comeback introduced a fifth member to the group: Seraphine (Lexie Liu). The group received similar acclaim, with the official MORE music video having almost 220 million views on YouTube.

The EP also saw contributors like K-pop group TWICE, Kim Petras, and Wolftyla, among others.

Since then, LoL's virtual music endeavors have not slowed down. In the past years, League of Legends fans have enjoyed tracks from metal rock band Pentakill and virtual boy band HEARTSTEEL. There hasn't been a shortage of top-notch talent working with Riot Music, either.

Big names like Lil Nas X and, most recently, Linkin Park contributed their musical prowess to the franchise.
