After taking down CFO, KT faces a tough test against Gen.G, with Cuzz confident the team is ready and respectful of the challenge.

KT Rolster is having a perfect run at LoL Worlds 2025, reaching the quarterfinals undefeated. They defeated CFO to advance and now face them again in the semifinals. Waiting ahead is a ruthless Gen.G, who is aiming for their third international title after already winning the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the Esports World Cup (EWC).

In an interview with esports.gg, Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan analyzed KT Rolster’s performance against CFO, the team’s evolution since the start of the year, and the confidence, respect, and hard work required for their next challenge — the one that could secure them a spot in the League of Legends Worlds 2025 Grand Finals. Against all odds, can KT defeat Gen.G and reach their first-ever LoL Worlds Grand Finals?

The first LoL Worlds 2025 Viego

Sofia: This was your first Viego pick of the tournament. What made you decide to bring him out in the last game?

KT Cuzz: First of all, I felt there were a lot of champions that could help our team secure the win. I also thought the enemy team would have to play in a way that allowed me to take advantage of Viego’s strengths. That was a key difference between our compositions. On top of that, I felt our team was a bit lacking in AD damage, so among the remaining options, I decided to pick the strongest AD champion available. I'm also very confident that I could perform well with him.

In LoL Worlds 2025, KT Cuzz is the only player to have played Viego in the tournament, securing a 100% win rate with the champion. Since 2017, KT Cuzz has played 63 competitive games on Viego, achieving a 60.3% win rate. Viego is the second champion with the most matches in his career, staying behind Sejuani.

KT Cuzz analysis and adaptation to CFO's playstyle

Sofia: CFO is known for their unique and aggressive playstyle, but they looked a little bit off today. How did you prepare for this series? What do you think was more important to target?

KT Cuzz: I watched all of CFO’s matches, and the biggest thing that stood out to me was their aggressive playstyle, especially how it starts from their jungler and bot lane. Because of that, I focused a lot on invading early and paying attention to champions that could pressure me. I tried to play carefully around that aggression and avoid giving them openings.

As the game went on, I noticed opportunities to dive bot lane through the lane swaps. But instead of them getting the advantage, we were the ones who took control. We constantly dive them and push the lane. I think that was the key point of today’s match.

CFO as a team really revolves around JunJia and their jungle-bot synergy. Their aggressive style is the core of their identity, so I made sure to be cautious about counter-jungling and invades. Over time, I actually expected them to try and dive our bot lane, but since we were already ahead, we managed to turn it around and dive them instead, and that’s how we were able to build up our lead in the end.

A rough beginning, a bright future

Sofia: You had a flawless run in the Swiss Stage, defeating MKOI, TSW, and TES to qualify for the Playoffs. Some people might say you had a lucky draw, but this roster has clearly been put in a lot of work. As one of the most experienced players on the team, how would you describe this roster's synergy and power?

KT Cuzz: To be honest, we haven’t lost a single game so far, which feels amazing. Early in the LCK season, though, we were actually in eighth place. At that time, we were a bit lost and struggling to find our direction as a team. Eventually, we figured out what we were really good at, and with the help of our head coaches, we found our identity. That’s when things started to improve.

Of course, compared to some other teams, we may have had a bit of luck along the way. But when you scrim against teams like MKOI, TSW, or TES, you can immediately tell how strong they are. Those matches are often 50–50, so I don’t think our success was just a matter of luck.

Thanks to our coaching staff, we were able to pinpoint our strengths and raise our overall level as a team. That process is what brought us this far. Sure, luck might have played a small part, especially in the draws, but I truly believe our improvement and teamwork made the biggest difference.

How to defeat Gen.G

Sofia: Do you think Bdd and Cuzz are the most iconic duo of the tournament?

KT Cuzz: Yeah, I think the semifinals will be really important for that. So far, we’ve shown that our mid-jungle duo is very strong, and I believe that’s been one of our biggest strengths throughout the tournament. If we’re able to defeat Gen.G, an undeniably strong team, then I think it’ll really solidify Bdd and me as one of the most iconic duos of the tournament.

Sofia: As you mentioned, you'll be playing against Gen.G in the semifinals, a team you know very well. Having faced Gen.G multiple times before, what do you think KT needs to focus on or adapt to in order to overcome them?

KT Cuzz: Gen.G has a very strong mid-jungle duo, and I think Kiin’s team play and decision-making are outstanding. Even though we’ve been undefeated so far, we can’t take that for granted. In my opinion, Gen.G’s mid and jungle are the strongest in the tournament, so we’ll need to play with extra focus and sensitivity.

We have to approach the match with full respect. Personally, I need to get a good read on their movements and angles, especially when Kiin looks to make plays. Our goal will be to shut down those opportunities and react faster than they do. I think the key to this match will be catching and executing on those angles better than our opponents.
