CBLOL fans rise! FURIA dominated both Cloud9 and Sentinels at the 2026 Americas Cup without dropping a single game.
Brazilian team FURIA had a perfect run at the inaugural 2026 Americas Cup. CBLOL fans take the W in this event after FURIA tore through the LCS representatives without losing a single game.
The greatest enemy of the LCS
They came into the first-ever Americas Cup after they narrowly missed qualification for First Stand 2026. FURIA placed third in the 2026 CBLOL Cup as the eventual runner-ups, RED Canids, ended their lower bracket run. Meanwhile, LOUD won the grand final and claimed CBLOL’s only First Stand slot.
Heading into Americas Cup, though, FURIA was first pitted against LCS Lock-In 2nd placers Cloud9.
The all-Brazilian squad handily defeated C9, 2-0. This also included a Yasuo pick from FURIA bot-laner Andrey “Ayu” Saraiva. He dominated the game, ending with a 10/4/5 KDA before exploding the enemy team’s Nexus for the second time that day.
They then faced LCS’ second representatives in Sentinels. The outcome remained the same – an overwhelming 3-0 series for FURIA. SEN did put up a fight, though, and the first game of this match logged the longest game of the entire tournament at 41 minutes and 22 seconds.
FURIA’s carries did their job, and they did it well. Ayu had a combined KDA of 23/7/26 across the three games, while mid-laner and series MVP Arthur Peixoto “Tutsz” Machado tallied at 18/6/23. This win qualified them for the grand final.
Cloud9 also made grand finals after eliminating SEN from the competition. FURIA did not intend for this match to go any differently, and they swept Cloud9, 3-0. Ayu brought out another unconventional champion in the bot lane: Sion. This was paired by Gabriel Dzelme “JoJo” de Oliveira’s Senna support. While it wasn’t as lane dominant as their Yasuo-Rakan duo, this gave jungler Pedro “Tatu” Seixas’ Zaahen the space that was certainly finals MVP-worthy.
I want to understand why [LCS] has [3 Worlds slots] and we only have one. I just want to understand that.
FUR Tatu
Tatu’s post-win quote also made the rounds, questioning both regions’ Worlds spots.
FURIA are now entitled to a Riot-funded bootcamp in South Korea around the time that MSI 2026 happens.
FURIA celebrates their win, Cloud9 gets clowned
JoJo went on X to celebrate, saying that he “wanted to thank the community for all the support and affection towards me and the team.”
Ayu echoed his support’s sentiments.

Meanwhile, Tatu will be sleeping soundly after the win.
On the other hand, fans online are having fun at Cloud9’s expense.

While the quote above attributed to C9 coach Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera is false, he did speak after both of their match losses to FURIA.

After their first match loss, IWD commended the Brazilian team for their performance. “They were just legit better than us. They punished us for mistakes that we make often and held zones well. Nothing else to say, we have to play better in the lower bracket tomorrow,” said the coach.
Post-grand finals, he also shared his thoughts on X.

LCS and CBLOL fans can tune in to a clash between their regional champions as LYON and LOUD are set to be one of the opening matches of First Stand 2026, starting March 16, 2026.
