100 Thieves vs Team Liquid: matches recap
Come back to this section after the games.
Game 1
The game started strong for Team Liquid with great team play on the seven-minute mark in the top lane and some important kills. Not satisfied with that fight, 100 Thieves started another one three minutes later that went wrong for them. The gold difference was starting to be felt and the stomp was getting even more real.
When we thought the game was decided, 100 Thieves killed three enemies and started to look like a different game. But that happiness ended fast because Team Liquid's supremacy was undeniable. They tried once again to get some advantage, but they ended up losing two teammates and did not get any bounty from Team Liquid. And the first game goes to Team Liquid.

Game 2
The second game started later than scheduled after Yeon's glasses broke and had to be fixed before the match. The first blood goes to 100 Thieves with a great initiative into the void grubs. With a slower game than the first one, Team Liquid tried to make a play in the bot lane, but didn't go as well as they thought. The massive 5v5 team fight ended in a one-for-one trade. TL then pushed the lanes to try and close 100T's gold lead.
Overall, this game was more even than the first one. After a bad initiative from 100 Thieves, Team Liquid killed three players and did Atakhan which gave them the advantage they needed to gain control over the match. However, 100 Thieves kept trying, and with an amazing play with the Nocturne and Orianna combo, they were able to collect some important kills. In the Drake fight, they lost their opportunity to increase their small advantage to Team Liquid.
Team Liquid ends up doing Baron and 100 Thieves couldn't get a hold of the game again. Team Liquid pushed sides, increased the gold advantage, and with another bad fight from 100 Thieves, won the second match. Things started to look really bad for 100 Thieves. Would they be capable of coming back from two losses?
Game 3
100 Thieves didn't want to give it up so soon and got the first blood as well as one important kill in the top lane. But, Team Liquid's strong communication and team grouping were crucial to avoid giving up the advantage to 100 Thieves. After a lull in the game, 100 Thieves engaged in a great fight at the 16-minute mark that gave them a great advantage in the game.
That was a perfect time for 100 Thieves to regain some confidence lost and build a 3k gold advantage. But like that, Team Liquid got a great pick on Xayah and the bounty went to Yeon. With the addition of a suicidal teleport from Sniper, Team Liquid made Drake and things started to change a little bit in the game. It was in the Atakhan fight that Team Liquid changed everything and destroyed all 100 Thieves' advantage.
And in a few minutes, Team Liquid regained the gold difference, made the objectives, and pushed sides. In the Soul fight, Team Liquid made an incredible team fight with Yeon making four kills, pentakill denied by UmTI. What a game-changing play from Team Liquid.
It was the only thing they needed to ensure their victory. Team Liquid is the newest LTA Cross-Conference winner and the LTA representative in The First Stand. GG everyone!
