VKmsbc’s Journey to the Top at Hearthstone Masters Tour Voyage to the Sunken City
Prior to facing Cursed in the finals, VKmsbc used his decks to duke it out against players such as Sabito in the quarterfinals and Orange in the semifinals.
The Hearthstone Masters Tour Voyage to the Sunken City matches were fought under the conquest format. Each competitor brought four decks and four classes into the fray, facing off in best-of-five games. After eight rounds of swiss pairings, the top 16 players were determined. This was followed by the top eight Hearthstone players battling for a spot in the semifinals.
In his semifinal match against Orange, VKmsbc achieved a 3-1 score using Boar Priest, Naga Demon Hunter, and Naga Ping Mage. Meanwhile, Cursed also earned a 3-1 victory over FaceOff thanks to Mech Mage, Face Hunter, and Beast Druid.
Massive Armor Gain Versus Aggro
When it came down to the final, game one involved VKmsbc’s Control Warrior versus Cursed’s Face Hunter. The latter competitor went for aggressive plays in the early game, buffing his Irondeep Trogg with Doggie Biscuit and forcing VKmsbc to coin into a weapon for board control. Cursed continued to go face with minions during the midgame. This was coupled with Aimed Shot followed by the Hunter hero power.
However, VKmsbc did not give in, as he cleared his opponent’s board and used Frozen Buckler to gain armor. VKmsbc kept gaining armor and clearing the board in the next few turns. This soon led to his victory as his opponent bowed out.
Double Pufferfist for the Win
In game two, of the Hearthstone Masters Tour Voyage to the Sunken City finals, VKmsbc went with his Naga Demon Hunter deck while Cursed selected Beast Druid. VKmsbc cleared the board in the early game with the help of a weapon and spells. VKmsbc then played Drek’Thar on his turn four, which summoned two Pufferfist minions. These dealt damage to all enemies after the hero’s attack. When VKmsbc ended his turn, his opponent conceded the game.
Clutch Blackwater Behemoth for the 3-0 Masters Tour Voyage to the Sunken City Sweep
As for game three, it was VKmsbc’s Naga Ping Mage against Cursed’s Naga Demon Hunter. While VKmsbc played to preserve his health total in the early game, his opponent increased his weapon damage and dealt 10 to the face. This brought VKmsbc’s health down to 15.
Although it looked dire for VKmsbc, he persisted and played Horn of Ancients. The card granted him Blackwater Behemoth for one mana, and VKmsbc put it on the board for the Lifesteal. The game was soon over as VKmsbc gained back some health, went face with minions, pinged, and played Reckless Apprentice for lethal.
