Read on for the details of what’s happening with the Hearthstone community in relation to the Parallel TCG game.

Hearthstone players are at odds with each other due to the Parallel TCG game. Here's what is happening with the Hearthstone community in relation to Parallel TCG.

Parallel TCG versus Hearthstone explained

The Parallel TCG game has been a hot topic among Hearthstone players over the past few days. According to Hearthstone caster Raven, Parallel TCG is a game that involves cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In a post, he cautioned players against following influencers into the Parallel TCG world. Raven also stated that influencers "are being paid to promote these games."

Meanwhile, Hearthstone streamer Cassie "BabyBear" stated that she had made money by selling her duplicate and rare Parallel TCG cards. For context, selling cards to other players is not possible in Hearthstone. Instead, players must disenchant them for Arcane Dust, which can then be used to craft other Hearthstone cards.

"I'm not saying everyone will make loads of money," BabyBear continued in another reply. "These games can be played without ever even connecting a wallet. For people who are into the crypto side of things though there are options to trade cards or earn money playing ladder."

Hearthstone features lead and principal game designer Chadd "Celestalon" Nervig weighed in on the conversation as well, noting how Parallel TCG involves making money off people below oneself on a pyramid.

This is likely a reference to a pyramid scheme. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a pyramid scheme is "a usually illegal operation in which participants pay to join and profit mainly from payments made by subsequent participants."

What is Parallel TCG?

According to the game's own website, Parallel TCG is a free-to-play (F2P) digital trading card game. It involves futuristic aesthetics and battling for a faction. The website also notes how Parallel TCG is a fast-paced game where players can build a unique deck, compete worldwide, and win PRIME.

PRIME refers to "the utility token for Echelon and its ecosystem of games," according to the Echelon website. Additionally, according to Holder.io, PRIME is a cryptocurrency.

Hearthstone players and Parallel TCG

In addition to BabyBear, other prominent Hearthstone players have entered the Parallel TCG world. A few of them include Wesley "LambySeries" Seek, Alexandra "Alliestrasza" Macpherson, Thijs "Thijs" Molendijk, and Raphael "Bunnyhoppor" Peltzer.

These players are significant because LambySeries is a former Hearthstone Grandmaster. Thijs also boasts several victories in his Hearthstone career, including the 2015 HWC Europe Championship, 2016 HCT Europe Spring Championship, and Grandmasters 2021 Season 1 EMEA Week 1.

Meanwhile, Bunnyhoppor is a Hearthstone World Championship winner and Alliestrasza is a well-known Hearthstone streamer plus a champion for women in the Hearthstone space.
