Hearthstone’s biggest minions are here, what are the new Colossal monsters? Join us while we explore this Voyage to the Sunken City keyword

The latest Hearthstone game expansion brought new mechanics to the game, one of the most impressive ones, the Colossal Keyword. This new Voyage to the Sunken City keyword will make a splash in the meta. But, how does the Hearthstone Colossal mechanic work? Take a deep breath as we dive into this new Keyword.

Colossal Keyword

The new Hearthstone Colossal Keyword is a brand new mechanic of Voyage to the Sunken City expansion. Minions with the Colossal keyword are so huge that they don’t fit in a regular Hearthstone card. These minions have extra appendages that synergize with their main body and are summoned with it when the main body enters the battlefield.

Minions with the Colossal Keyword will summon their appendages whenever they are summoned. It doesn’t matter if you play them from hand, you recruit them from your deck, or if you just hit a lucky evolve or summon from a spell. Once a Colossal minion enters the battlefield, its token will do it too, doing something Hearthstone has never seen before.

Hearthstone Associate Game Designer Gallon, in an interview with Esports.gg gave some insights about the Colossal Keyword. For him, the Colossal could be Hearthstone’s best Keyword outside Discover. Moreover, he explained his view on Colossal minions:

“Colossal minions are minions that are just too big to fit onto just one card. So whenever you summon them—not just play them—whenever you summon them like if you recruit them or summon them in your deck, they will spawn with their extra appendages. And these are unique limbs that will play off the main body’s textbox in very interesting ways.”

As you will see, these Colossal minions will be something unique. Its main powerful body with the extra appendages can resemble facing a boss in an old retro video game.
