YouTube Shorts will soon link to whatever long-form video a creator chooses.
YouTube never ceases to stop surprising people with their unique and innovative changes to the platform. The company proves time and time again why they are at the top of the food chain with content creation and streaming. Recently, YouTube made an announcement regarding a new feature where Shorts will be able to link to long-form videos.
Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming YouTube Shorts update.
YouTube plans to link Shorts to long-form videos by the end of September
The popular content-creating platform announced this week that they plan to roll out this feature by the end of September.
So how will this new "Shorts linking to long-form videos" work?
Well, it is quite simple. There will be a new option in YouTube Studio allowing creators to link any long-form video to the short they plan on posting. This is a huge feature for those who have Shorts that perform better than their long-form videos.

YouTube laid out the details in their recent blog post:
"We know that clickable links help creators direct their Shorts audiences to other types of content, like their long-form videos," said YouTube. "By the end of September, we’ll start introducing a safer way for creators to direct viewers from Shorts to their other YouTube content."
Hopefully, this new update helps creators push their long-form to more people.
