A rebellion is forming online behind demands to announce Star Wars Battlefront 3.
Star Wars fans are uniting in rebellion, calling on EA to announce Battlefront 3. This renewed call comes after the conclusion of the hugely successful Disney+ series, Andor. The second season of Andor has proved to be one of the most highly rated series ever, on IMDB with the last five episodes all scoring 9.5 or above.
However, it seems unlikely that these calls will yield success. A planned Star Wars FPS game was cancelled last year and DICE, the studio that would most likely make Battlefront 3, are busy with the next Battlefield game. If there is sustained interest, things can always change, but there appears to be zero plans for a third instalment at the moment. But, that won't stop people from asking.
Fans demand Star Wars Battlefront 3
The rebellion is taking place across social media, in particular on Tiktok. Fans are spamming comment sections and posting videos demanding the game is announced.
Videos about Battlefront 3 have hundreds of thousands of likes, showing that there is a lot of potential interest in the new game. This seems to be as a result of several big moments for Star Wars fans, in addition to Andor Season 2 there has also been a re-release of Revenge of the Sith and a brand new animated limited series to celebrate May 4th.

Battlefront 2 player counts rise
This momentum and increased interest isn't just a social media fad. Player numbers are increasing dramatically on Steam - with a likely trend on console platforms too. This is far bigger than the usual spike seen on May 4th.
This spike in players is showing no sign in slowing down, and has taken the peak player count to almost its lifetime record on Steam. It needs to be noted that the game did not initially release on Steam, joining the platform three years later.
While social media campaigning gets attention, only sustained player numbers could draw EA's attention. It seems unlikely that momentum will get to the point where it cannot be ignored. However, if Star Wars teaches us anything, never say never. Rebellions are built on hope, after all.
