Fortnite Ranked is coming back soon ahead of the $1 million Unreal Cup. Here’s when you can tap back into the competitive playlist!
Fortnite's Ranked mode left the rotation temporarily following the launch of Chapter 7 Season 1. As a result, those looking to scratch that competitive itch had to opt for the traditional Battle Royale playlist. However, Ranked is returning soon, along with a few other fan-favorite game modes.
Here's everything you need to know, including some details regarding a $1 million Fortnite Ranked tournament series.
When is Ranked coming back to Fortnite?
Various leakers have confirmed that Fortnite Ranked is coming back on Thursday, Dec. 4, around 9 a.m. ET. Other playlists set to return include Blitz and Reload, both of which have garnered a significant following since their launch. Ranked is critical, though, considering Epic Games just announced a massive $1 million tournament centered around this game mode.
What's unclear is whether Ranked 2.0 will launch tomorrow. Epic Games teased a renovated version of the playlist at the 2025 Fortnite Global Championship, presumably based on player feedback. Many have felt there are no real stakes to Ranked and thus players have prioritized other modes like Blitz and Reload.
Regardless of the version we see tomorrow, you can expect Fortnite Ranked to be ready to go on Dec. 4.
A massive $1 million Unreal Duos tournament begins on Dec. 5
Epic Games recently announced the Road to Unreal series, which starts on Dec. 5. Every day from Dec. 5 to Dec. 21, Duos can compete in one Ranked Cup to move closer to the highest possible rank, Unreal.
You can earn cosmetic prizes along the way while moving up the leaderboard. Epic will then host the Unreal Cup on Saturday, Dec. 20, where Duos across most regions will compete for a share of $1 million. Those looking to compete MUST reach Unreal in Fortnite Ranked to qualify for the Unreal Cup.
