Vecna is coming to Fortnite ahead of Stranger Things’ final season

The long-running Netflix series Stranger Things is less than two weeks from kicking off its fifth and final season. As part of the show's marketing efforts, a third collaboration with Fortnite will take place around the time Season 5 begins. While Epic Games has provided some details about what fans can expect, Fortnite leakers have revealed that the villain known as Vecna will be one of the playable characters.

Following the character's debut in Season 4, Vecna quickly became the most significant threat the gang has faced across the series. As a result, it only made sense that arguably the scariest villain in Stranger Things is part of the latest collaboration.

Although we don't know exactly what to expect, ShiinaBR and FNBRintel have both confirmed the character will join Fortnite "later this month." It's unclear what other cosmetics will be part of the crossover beyond just Vecna.

We could see a few different alternate styles based on the character's many looks from his inception through the late 1980s. Vecna's Fortnite Pickaxe will be interesting, considering he primarily uses telekinesis as a weapon. Everything else is a mystery until more details come to light.

Fortnite x Stranger Things was shockingly one of the first collaborations ever secured by the game. Chief Hopper and the Demogorgon were the first two skins available back in 2019. After only a few appearances in the Item Shop, both skins vanished for four years for unknown reasons.

Their eventual return in November 2023 coincided with wave two of the Stranger Things crossover. The game welcomed Eleven, utilizing actress Millie Bobby Brown's likeness in various alternate styles. With the show's final season upon us, it only made sense for Fortnite to add Eleven's nemesis, Vecna, to the game.

The only other details Epic Games has revealed regarding the third iteration of Fortnite x Stranger Things are either a Blitz Royale point of interest (POI) or a map dedicated to the show. We'll have to wait and see what else Epic and Netflix have in store for Fortnite players.
