Fortnite’s Zero Hour event provided the first look at Playboi Carti’s in-game skin. Here’s how it looks and when we expect it!
Both Fortnite and Playboi Carti have confirmed that the rapper will collaborate with the game soon. To the surprise of many, Epic Games provided fans with their first look at the Playboi Carti Fortnite skin during the Zero Hour event. Although we have no confirmed release date, this article offers the first look at Playboi Carti in-game and some theories about when the skin will be available.
First look at the Playboi Carti Fortnite skin
Rumors that Playboi Carti would appear during the Zero Hour event emerged hours before it began. However, those not in tune with Fortnite leaks were likely caught off guard by the scene depicted above. Following a brief visit to the world of Fall Guys, players teleported to a basketball court where they transformed into Playboi Carti.
Surrounded by over a dozen other Playboi Cartis, you could hear the song "EVIL J0RDAN" while the main Playboi Carti performed basketball tricks at center court. Not long after the event, a Fortnite leaker named Feco posted a complete look at the Outfit featured during the event.
The skin itself features a blue basketball jersey with "I AM MUSIC" on the front and "Carti" on the back. Epic Games included the number "00" on both the front and the back, with suspenders, an "I AM MUSIC" belt buckle, and boots similar to Timberlands.
Fortnite's version of Playboi Carti appears to draw inspiration from an image of the rapper wearing an Allen Iverson jersey. Fortnite leaker Wensoing has confirmed the collaboration will include two skins, two instruments, and multiple Jam Tracks.
When will the skin be available for purchase?
Playboi Carti is the latest addition to Fortnite's growing Icon Series collection, but not as part of Fortnite Festival. Instead, this appears to be a straightforward Item Shop collaboration. The release date is currently unclear, but it will launch sometime in Chapter 7 Season 1, which begins on Nov. 29.
We will have more information as it becomes available, but this could be one of the most significant Icon Series collaborations yet.
