Peterbot went head-to-head with Stable Ronald in 1v1 Fortnite show match for $25K. It the way most expected.

A Fortnite 1v1 for the ages went down recently between two Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) winners. The consensus greatest player of all time, Peter "Peterbot" Kata, squared off against former professional Fortnite player and current FaZe creator Rani "Stable Ronaldo" Netz.

Despite having a significant advantage, Stable Ronaldo struggled mightily. Here's what happened between Peterbot and FaZe Ronaldo, including how the 1v1 played out and some of the best moments.

Why did Peterbot and Stable Ronaldo 1v1 for $25K?

This story began on May 12, when Ronaldo, during a phone call with Peterbot, proposed a $10K 1v1. Ronaldo stipulated that the two would play until one reached 100 eliminations. However, given their skill difference, Ronaldo would begin the match with 99 kills, meaning he would need one.

Peterbot agreed, and the 1v1 would occur one day later on May 12. While the two were initially going to compete for $10K, Fortnite reached out to Ronaldo, offering to add $15K to the prize. That brought the total to $25K in what may be the most entertaining 1v1 in Fortnite history.

Although it seemed easy enough, especially for a former professional Fortnite player, Ronaldo quickly learned how challenging one elimination would be.

What went down when the two FNCS Champions squared off?

Let's say it was a rough day at the office for FaZe Ronaldo. Peterbot, a player many believe to be the best in the game, pulled no punches against the content creator. The two went head-to-head first in 1v1 build battles. The difference in skill was evident right from the beginning.

Peterbot played it safe, taking the high ground often and ensuring that Stable Ronaldo would never be at an advantage. After quickly going up 5-0, Ronaldo cited lag on NA Central servers as part of the reason he wasn't performing to his expectations.

With a collective viewership of over 100,000, Ronaldo's situation became increasingly more alarming. Peterbot relentlessly talked trash to his opponent while hovering consistently above his head. After the five-time FNCS Champion reached 50 kills, the game type switched from 1v1 build fights to zone wars.

Although some believed Stable Ronaldo would fare better in zone wars, Peterbot further showcased his abilities. Fifty kills turned into 75 kills, at which point the two switched back to build fights for the closing stretch. However, it didn't matter what Ronaldo threw at Peterbot. He lost 100 to 99, and chaos ensued.

Stable Ronaldo crashes out after losing $25K

In the immediate aftermath, Ronaldo remained reserved, referring to Peterbot as the greatest player ever. The two then parted ways, and with $25K less to his name, Ronaldo destroyed his setup. A player he could have teamed with in 2021 surpassed him in skill and embarrassed him in a 1v1.

The collateral damage of Ronaldo's loss echoed across the Fortnite community. Cody "Clix" Conrod, a Fortnite Icon Series member, lost $6K after wagering that Ronaldo would manage at least one kill.

Conversely, Peterbot remained as stoic as ever while relishing his victory over Stable Ronaldo. His X post following the win mimicked what he regularly posts after an FNCS triumph. It was just another day of easy work for Peterbot. He added another $25K to his career earnings and remains a feared player in Fortnite.

Will a rematch between Peterbot and Ronaldo happen?

Those who watched the disaster unfold were far from thinking about a potential rematch between these two. However, Ronaldo ended the saga by posting a campaign for a part two in June. Based on the wording, this 1v1 could be for $50K, which would be an incredible display.

Only time will tell when and if this rematch will occur, but for now, all viewers learned why Peterbot is a five-time FNCS Champion and Pro-Am winner and now Stable Ronaldo's nightmare.
