What will the LEGO game mode entail?

In a press release, Epic Games explains LEGO Fortnite as “the ultimate survival crafting adventure.” As a result, it sounds similar to Minecraft, offering players an open-world concept and endless possibilities.

“LEGO Fortnite is the ultimate survival crafting LEGO adventure. It introduces vast, open worlds where the magic of LEGO building and Fortnite collide. Designed for people of all ages to enjoy together, the game will encourage creativity, experimentation and collaboration through play.

LEGO Fortnite is the first digital play experience from the long term partnership between Epic and The LEGO Group, and will be available December 7, 2023 with an E10+ rating.”

The brief clip showcased during The Big Bang Fortnite event gave fans a glimpse into the LEGO game mode. Based on the footage, players can build houses, emote, represent their favorite Fortnite skins, and farm to collect building materials. A massive battle between a pair of wolves and a giant creature rounds out the footage before the LEGO characters fly away, but it's unclear how this factors into the gameplay.

Beyond the gameplay, leakers have confirmed that upwards of 1,200 skins will have a LEGO counterpart ready for release.

There is no question that this collaboration will elevate Fortnite to another level of popularity. You can check out the LEGO game mode on December 7. The game mode could break even more records than Fortnite OG. Also, let's not forget that real-life Fortnite LEGO sets are also in the works.
