The Fortnite Summer Escape update is finally here. Despite Epic Games taking its usual summer hiatus, this update could not wait. This patch includes Quests, free rewards, and summer-themed items. You will also want to head to Sunswoon Lagoon to see the new decorations.

Free Summer Escape Quests + Rewards
Fortnite Summer Escape 2023 features 32 Quests across the event, with many unlockables up for grabs. Five challenges are available to complete as of the beginning of the Fortnite summer event. The remaining challenges will unlock progressively over the next two weeks
Each Questgrants you 30,000 XP and counts toward the overall unlockables. Here are the currently available challenges:
- Stage one of three - Gain Shields (0/200)
- Damage opponents within 45 seconds of getting out of the water after swimming (0/100)
- Swim distance at Sunswoon Lagoon (0/75)
- Eat ice cream cones (0/5)
- Break slap barrels or slurp barrels (0/10)

Fortnite Summer Escape brings back Ice Cream + Fireworks Flare Gun
Summer isn’t summer without Ice Cream and Fireworks, even in Fortnite. The Fortnite Summer Escape update has brought back the consumable Ice Cream, which gives you health and shield. Also, the Flare Gun has been reskinned to the Fireworks Flare Gun while still serving the same purpose.
Reality Augment Changes
Fortnite has added two Reality Augments to the game; Icy Slide and Thermal Mud. The former was in the game previously, and it grants players an icy speed boost when sliding. Thermal Mud is a new Reality Augment allowing thermal vision when covered in mud.
Purradise Meowscles Quests are live on July 6
It’s almost time to unlock the Battle Pass bonus character, Purradise Meowscles. While the Fortnite Summer Escape update dropped today, these Quests go live in two days.

- Damage opponents with Pistols or Heavy Sniper Rifles (0/500) — Unlocks Purradise Meowscles Loading Screen

- Bounce on bouncy objects (0/5) — Unlocks Purradise Vibes Lobby Track
- Collect fish (0/3) — Unlocks Self Reflexing Emote
- Complete Page One Quests (0/4) — Unlocks Purradise Meowscles Outfit and Spray
- Deal damage to opponents (0/7,500) — Unlocks Clawesome Meowscles Loading Screen
- Carry a full stack of ammo ten meters (0/10) — Unlocks Banner Icon
- Get eliminated in different matches (0/9) — Unlocks Beach Breezer Glider
- Flip a vehicle (0/1) — Unlocks Purradise Pattern Wrap
