Fortnite OG rolls on with Season 8 beginning on March 31. Here's a sneak peek as to what you can expect when it drops!

Fortnite OG Season 8 is mere days away from launching, bringing players to one of the most diverse maps with some truly unforgettable weapons and items. The original Season 8 arrived in February 2019, and over seven years later, it will return temporarily in all its glory.

Although OG Season 8 will feature much of what long-time players will expect, the Battle Pass includes remixed versions of classic skins. We are here to cover it all as we prepare for the return to one of the great Fortnite seasons.

Fortnite OG Season 8 overview: Release date, loot pool, map, and more

The newest update to Fortnite OG will arrive on April 1, bringing new locations and memorable weapons to the mix. Perhaps the standout addition is The Baller, one of the most interesting vehicles in Fortnite history. It instantly became one of the most reliable rotational devices, freeing up inventory slots rather than carrying Shockwaves.

Other inclusions on the weapons and items side include the Flint-Knock Pistol, Shadow Bomb, and Infantry Rifle. All three made an immediate impact in 2019. The pirate-themed Flint-Knock delivers a shot so powerful it sends the user backward, while the Shadow Bomb is one of the more useful rotational items of Chapter 1.

In addition to these items, many of the weapons from Season 7 will remain, such as the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, and other classics beloved by many fans.

As for locations, Fortnite OG Season 8 doesn’t offer many new drop spots, but it does include some iconic locations. For one, Lazy Lagoon is easily one of the coolest POIs in all of Chapter 1. It features a massive pirate ship in the titular lagoon, a small town area, and a giant waterfall.

Another standout is the Volcano, which played host to the legendary showdown between The Mech vs. Monster fight, which we hope to see in OG Season 9. Lastly is Sunny Steps, which replaced Wailing Woods and sits in the same area as Lazy Lagoon and The Volcano.

What can I expect in the OG Season 8 Battle Pass?

Each OG Battle Pass typically features remixed versions of Season 8 skins, and that remains the same here. The key art released by Epic Games showcases Luxe, Blackheart, and Hybrid. The remixed Blackheart is one of the better redesigns we’ve seen, as it retains what makes the original unique while giving him a skull-and-lava makeover.

Luxe has a different outfit this time around, and Hybrid now has a female counterpart. The other cosmetics are currently unknown, except for the Victory Umbrella, which you can see above. However, you can expect some nods to Chapter 1 Season 8 in the OG Season 8 Battle Pass.

We expect to learn more about the Battle Pass before Season 8 lands on April 1!
