Content creator CouRageJD’s dog Louis will soon become the first-ever Icon Series Sidekick in Fortnite, much to his dismay.
The jokes may never end for Jack 'CouRageJD' Dunlop, who has become a playful target for those already in the Fortnite Icon Series. Rather than adding CouRageJD as an in-game skin, Fortnite has announced the creator's dog, Louis, will become the first-ever Icon Series Sidekick.
Epic Games is either the ultimate troll, or CouRage has a future in Hollywood, as he reacted to the situation as if he had no idea it would happen.
Fortnite to welcome CouRageJD's dog Louis to the Icon Series
The news arrived via Fortnite's official X account, confirming that CouRageJD's dog, Louis, will become the youngest member of the Icon Series while throwing a subtle jab at his owner. Although other creators' pets have appeared in their Icon Series collabs, such as World Cup Champion Bugha's dog Zoey, this marks the first time a pet will become a Sidekick.
If you are unfamiliar with Sidekicks, this is an in-game cosmetic added recently. Those who purchase a Sidekick will have the critter by their side throughout each match. However, only the user can see the companion, and it grants no advantage.
Animals and beyond have become Sidekicks, such as Itchy from The Simpsons and a mini version of Fishtick. Soon, Louis will be the first-ever creator-associated pet to achieve this feat. Epic Games has yet to announce a release date or price for Louis.
CouRage reacts to his dog becoming an Icon Series member before him
It's become a meme in the Fortnite scene that CouRageJD has yet to receive an Icon Series skin. Other members, such as SypherPK, Nick Eh 30, and more, frequently tease him about not having a Fortnite skin.
CouRageJD played the situation off as if he wasn't aware that Epic planned to add his dog, Louis, to Fortnite, while reacting to many memes. CouRage even said he hopes that this means a more elaborate collaboration will happen in the future.
While that seems inevitable at this point, the memes have already continued at the expense of Louis's owner. Ultimately, that will make the moment CouRageJD enters Fortnite's Icon Series all the more entertaining.
