Combo Breaker 2024 Tekken 8 results

The tournament is over, so let’s enjoy the full stream and also T8 results from Combo Breaker 2024.

Top 8 recap

One of the biggest favorites of this tournament, Arslan Ash, fell to the loser’s bracket in Round 3, after his match against Dr.theJAKEMAN, M.D. In the top 8 part, Arslan had a super confident run with his Nina, defeating four opponents, including another Tekken legend, Knee.

On the winners side, AK from the Philippines also played impressively! With Shaheen, he defeated Kuma of Rangchu and Victor of Farzeen.Quite interestingly, the Tekken 8 final brackets at Combo Breaker 2024 brought us almost no character swaps. Most competitors played one fighter throughout their all matches. Only JeonDDing switched to Eddy at some point, the first T8 DLC character.

Grand Final

The grand final between Arslan Ash and AK was back-and-forth, incredibly intense. Both players had their moments, and both got their rounds and games. Everything had to be decided in the very last round. Could Arslan reset the bracket?

AK was super patient when Arslan Ash activated Heat. When that was over, he found a couple of lows and performed a great launcher. With Heat on his side, he landed an effective combo and won the tournament.

AK is the Tekken 8 champion at Combo Breaker 2024. Congratulations!

Top players to watch out for

Here are just a few big names to watch out for during many rounds of the TEKKEN 8 tournament at Combo Breaker 2024:

  • Chikurin, the TEKKEN 8 Champion at Evo Japan 2024 has registered for the event. Will he be able to repeat his success?
  • Arslan Ash, one of the best TEKKEN players in the world, did not really have a chance to play at big events. Due to visa difficulties, he did not participate in Evo Japan. So far, Arslan Ash has played only at Pakistani Tier 2 tournaments, so Combo Breaker should be his big entrance to the TEKKEN 8 scene.
  • Knee — this legendary player had some difficulties with TEKKEN 8, and especially with its aggressive offensive style. The most recent patch has addressed this issue, so we can expect good plays from Knee at Combo Breaker 2024.
  • kkokkoma is currently among the TEKKEN World Tour top standings, and the player should use this chance to gain even more points.
  • SAINT and CBM are in similar situations, as both performed really well in TEKKEN 7, and now they need to prove their skills within the new game. They don’t have big victories in TEKKEN 8 yet.

As the event takes place in Chicago, we can expect the U.S. players to give a good fight at Combo Breaker. Such players as Anakin, Joey Fury, Shadow 20z, and JoeCrush are among the strongest.

The updated game

TEKKEN 8 got some pretty big updates just recently. Patch 1.04 is part of a massive plan of the developers to re-balance the game. Many characters have already got their adjustments, and the rest of the roster is waiting for the next update, TEKKEN 8 patch 1.05.

This means the Combo Breaker 2024 participants will be playing the updated game. The pros sure have the skills to adapt to changes quickly. And they had around 20 days to get prepared. Still, it’s the first big TEKKEN 8 tournament on the newest patch, which may shake the competition quite a bit.
