As a fighting games event, Evo has a few layers — and all of them are super exciting. It is a high-stakes competition, with the top-tier qualifiers for the main games. It is a platform for big announcements, from new characters to new games. And it's a celebration of the community, where thousands gather to play and have fun, and millions share the vibe online. Evo is absolutely special for the fighting games community (FGC)! And Evo 2024 confirms and strengthens this reputation.

Traditionally, the main program of Evo is limited to a few of the most popular titles and one legacy game. At the same time, there are many other fighting games tournaments happening at the venue as the Community Showcase lineup.

- TEKKEN 8 has a unique Master+ Event of the TEKKEN World Tour 2024. The winner earns 800 standing points. To compare, the winner of the Master event at The MIXUP 2024, double, got 560 points.
- Street Fighter 6 starts a series of offline qualifiers of the Capcom Pro Tour 2024. The event is of the Premier tier, and the Evo SF6 winner gets a direct invite to the Capcom Cup 11.
- The Arc World Tour 2024 features only a few Platinum Events for Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and UNI2. The top players earn many standing points, and the winners get direct invites to the AWT Global Finals 2024.

Reveals and announcements
In addition to the primary fun of esports tournaments, Evo 2024 is a great platform for game developers to showcase their products. Sure, it is rather impossible to predict all the announcements and reveals, but we can list new characters and games we are looking forward to seeing at the event.
- 2XKO: Braum is playable at Evo 2024, and it's interesting to hear the community feedback on this LoL champion in the fighting environment.
- TEKKEN 8: Lidia joins the playable roster a day after Evo 2024. We can expect a reveal of the next TEKKEN 8 DLC character.
- Street Fighter 6: the developers may show a gameplay trailer for the next character, Terry Bogard.
- Guilty Gear Strive: there was a promise of Season 4 after the release of Slayer, but no info on who the next GGST character was revealed yet. We should get a trailer.
- Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact will be released in 2024, and we got info on new characters recently. The developers may share the release date.
- Dragon Ball Sparking Zero may show a new trailer — maybe with the reveal date too.
- Mortal Kombat 1: the developers teased some reveals for Comic Con, but it would be weird not to have an MK1 announcement at Evo 2024, like the announcement of the Final Kombat 2024-2025.
- Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is a highly anticipated game, and SNK should reveal more details on it during Evo 2024.
