Vshojo CEO responds to the charity funds controversy and apologizes, but fans are not happy with it.

Vshojo, a mega empire in the Vtuber industry, crumbles overnight and is now facing its downfall. This follows a bombshell scandal involving mishandled charity funds. This resulted in a mass exodus of their talents and angry fans demanding some answers as to what is happening behind the scenes.

Amidst the chaos, Vhosjo CEO Justin "Gunrun" Ignacio issued a public apology on X regarding the issue. On top of that, he also announced that the Vtuber agency is shutting down for good. However, people weren’t convinced by his statement as X’s community note contradicted his claims, accusing him of lying.

“Vshojo has failed”: CEO apologizes and gets called out for lying

Following the $500,000 charity controversy that shattered VShojo, the company’s CEO made a statement, explaining how he’s been doing his best to “fundraise and right the ship these past few months.” However, it did not go so well, so he has decided to completely shut down the company.

However, there was one line from Gunrun’s statement that didn’t make sense to the fans. In the post, he said, “I acknowledge that some of the money spent by the company was raised in connection with talent activity, which I later learned was intended for a charitable initiative.”

Community note strikes, calling out Vshojo CEO for lying

After the post went viral, it was slapped with a community note that claims his statements were a lie.

“Justin claims to not know the purpose of the funds, but he personally congratulated Ironmouse on the completion of her charity fundraising event and reposted Ludwig directly mentioning that half the funds would go to charity," it stated.

The community note even added links to prove their claims, where Gunrun made a post on his personal account, “YOU DID IT MOUSE!!” on a post talking about the record-breaking fundraiser campaign of Ironmouse. Additionally, there is also a link to a retweet about Ludwig’s post about the iconic VTuber's achievement.

As for Ironmouse, she commented on the official statement, “You broke my heart, my spirit, and my trust.” Fans also flocked to the comment section, expressing their disappointment with the company.

Aftermath of the drama

Following her departure from Vshojo, everyone’s favourite gremlin, Ironmouse, is going indie. She even posted a teaser for her new VTuber model and possibly a full reveal this Aug. 4.

On the bright side, the recent Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) charity that Irounmouse recently hosted following this issue made numbers. According to her most recent post, it raised around $1.2 million dollars. The CEO of IDF also posted a video on YouTube thanking Ironmouse for her continued efforts to help the foundation.
