Netflix and Sony have officially confirmed KPop Demon Hunters 2, set to release in 2029. Here’s everything we know about the sequel.
Netflix, riding the unexpected wave of success from KPop Demon Hunters, is officially gearing up for a sequel. The Huntr/x are making their long-awaited return to the screen, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
KPop Demon Hunters 2
Netflix and Sony have finalized a deal for another KPop Demon Hunters movie, according to Bloomberg. The studios have scheduled the sequel for a 2029 release. The fans will have to wait a few more years before seeing the Huntr/x return.
As with most major animated productions, the process can take considerable time. The studios may change the release schedule as development continues, so take the current date with a grain of salt. For example, after the release of Demon Slayer: Infinite Castle in 2025, fans will have to wait until 2027 and 2030 for the next movies.
In July 2025, co-director Maggie Kang told Variety that "there are a lot of questions that are left unanswered and areas that are not explored," she added. "We had to do that because there’s only so much movie you could tell in 85 minutes."
We’ll share updates as soon as new information about the movie becomes available. The return of the voice actresses and Huntr/x singers, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, is still unknown.

After its release, KPop Demon Hunters has already collaborated with many brands, such as Nongshim, Funko Pops, and even video games like Fortnite. According to leaks, Fortnite is already preparing a second wave of KPop Demon Hunters cosmetics to be released in the game.
