It is time to return to Derry, as the upcoming prequel to the popular Stephen King novel is releasing soon. Here is everything we know about It: Welcome to Derry ahead of its release.
It (no pun intended) would seem that the long-awaited show, It: Welcome to Derry, will get an official October release this year. The prequel series to the famous Stephen King story has horror fans itching for its release. Here is everything we know.
It: Welcome to Derry official release date
At the moment, there is no official release date for It: Welcome to Derry. However, the show has been confirmed to be releasing in October of 2025. This is odd, though, due to the fact that October is only a month away, and we still do not have a definitive release date.

Many fans believe that the show's first episode (or two) will drop right around Halloween, meaning it will probably be released at the end of the month and finish up close to Christmas.

What is the new show?
The popular story of It was originally written by the King of Horror himself, Stephen King. This long book follows the story of various kids as they fight off an evil entity that takes the shape of their biggest fears. Then, 27 years later, the monster reappears, and the kids (now adults) have to return to their hometown of Derry to fight off their biggest fear.
So, will this new show be completely new material? Well, Stephen King's book tells countless stories of instances involving the entity from years before the main children's story. This show could easily be telling many of those stories that make up short chapters in the book, as well as some new ones.
What has fans more hyped, however, is the fact that Bill Skarsgard will be returning as Pennywise after playing the role in the hit films.
