Ironmouse’s claim about missing charity funds opened a can of worms, triggering mass exodus of VShojo talents and exposing deeper issues.

One of the biggest names in the Vtuber space, Ironmouse, publicly announced through a YouTube video that she is leaving his agency Vshojo, accusing it of mishandling around $500,000 in charity funds. This announcement sparked public backlash, with fans demanding answers from the Vtuber agency. On top of that, this controversy also caused a wave of departures from high-profile Vshiojo members.

Ironmouse explains why she left Vshojo

On July 21, Ironmouse released a video titled “Why I Left VShojo,” revealing she’s owed a “significant amount of funds” and that VShojo failed to forward over $500,000 raised for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF). She also emphasized that legal constraints currently prevent her from sharing all details, but she intends to be fully transparent once able.

“I know this is a lot, and it’s really important for me to be honest with you. I really want to tell you everything, but unfortunately, for now, I have been instructed by my attorney to wait for more of the legal procedure to unfold,” Ironmouse said.

According to Ironmouse, this charity donation came from one of her previous subathons. She reportedly requested Vhosjo make the donation to the IDF on her behalf. This is because the agency is responsible for handling payments for its talents.  However, a year has passed, but the agency has yet to transfer the money to the said charity.

Disappointed, Ironmouse announced that she is leaving the agency to be an independent VTuber. Additionally, Tiltify has stepped in to help her directly with a charity campaign for the IDF. This includes an upcoming livestream where all donations will go straight to the foundation, ensuring full transparency and proper fund delivery moving forward.

According to a post from Projekt Melody, the donations have reached $726,818 from a $10,000 goal. This is thanks to the community and brands like Gamer Supps stepping in to donate.

Vshojo controversy’s domino effect: Mass talent exodus, and allegations of unpaid talent

Following Ironmouse’s revelations, multiple Vshojo talents began distancing themselves from the agency. This includes talents like Kson, Projekt Melody, Froot, Henya, Hime, Michi Mochievee, and many more.

The controversy also brought another issue to light, as Kson revealed she had been dealing with unpaid wages. During a livestream, she allegedly called the CEO of VShojo Japan to confront the matter and inform them directly that she was quitting the agency.

With that said, the issue is far from over as the community, alongside legal commentators like Legal Mindset, has begun dissecting the legal implications surrounding VShojo’s alleged mishandling of funds.
