Two more teams are eliminated from the Dota 2 Lima Major.

We have reached the end of the group stage for Dota 2 Lima Major and with that, two more teams say goodbye to the first South American Major. Execration and TSM went into the Major as the top seed for their respective regions, Southeast Asia (SEA) and North America (NA). Unfortunately, they will bow out of the tournament early as they couldn't rise above the intense competition in the first DPC Major of the 2023 season.

Despite new faces, TSM drop out of the Major

TSM has gone through a major roster change in this season's DPC, with David "MoonMeander" Tan taking the role of head coach. The team fields a colorful lineup as they were joined by Matthew "Whitemon" Filemon from SEA, Matthew "Ari" Walker from Western Europe (WEU), and Ilyas "kasane" Gainullin from Eastern Europe (EEU). They qualified for the Lima Major as the number one North American team with an undefeated streak.

They didn't have an easy start in the group stage of Lima Major. Firstly, TSM won their series against PSG.LGD but fell 2-0 against Team Spirit, Talon Esports, and Tundra Esports. They avoided early elimination by taking one game from Execration and Gaimin Gladiators. They also grabbed a sweet win against EHOME. Unfortunately, they couldn't escape the inevitable as Evil Geniuses trumped them in their last game of the Major. TSM finished 15th-16th place.

SEA's first-place bombs out early

Execration dominated the SEA region in the first season of the DPC 2023, soaring ahead of notable teams like Talon Esports and Fnatic. The Filipino team is polished, determined, and ready for action with veteran Dota 2 player Park "March" Tae-won at the helm as their head coach.

The Lima Major seeded them into Group A which holds fierce competition. Execration managed to get a draw for six matches, taking one game from Gaimin Gladiators, TSM, Evil Geniuses, PSG.LGD, Tundra Esports, and EHOME. Unfortunately, they fell 0-2 against Talon Esports and Team Spirit. With no wins in the Major, Execration signs off Lima Major in the 15th-16th place. This leaves only Talon Esports as the carrier of SEA's hope in the land of Peru.
