Day 3 of The International 2024 playoffs has concluded. Prominent Dota 2 teams Spirit and G2xiG have been eliminated. XG moves on.

Day Three of The International 2024 (TI13) playoffs ended with a shock result as Team Spirit became one of four teams eliminated.

Beastcoast, G2 x iG, HEROIC, and Team Spirit fell in intense Bo3 matches. The four remaining teams progress to the final stage of TI13, where they will compete for the Aegis of Champions in Copenhagen from Sep.13-15.

Team Spirit’s shocking exit at TI13 to finish 9th-12th

Team Spirit’s journey ended unexpectedly today. They first swept G2 x iG 2-0 to secure a top 12 finish. However, they lost 1-2 to Xtreme Gaming and were eliminated from TI.

Team Spirit had aimed for their third-time TI championship and showed strong form in the group stage, going 6-0 to claim the first place. But in the seeding decider, they lost 0-2 to nouns, a North American team they chose, starting their playoffs run in the lower bracket. In the second round, they faced another group winner, Xtreme Gaming. Both teams had won Tier 1 tournaments this year, but they met early in the lower bracket of TI13.

Finally, Team Spirit finishes TI13 in 9th-12th place.
