SumaiL will stand in for Team Aster at the Berlin Major

Berlin Major begins in less than two weeks.

Yes, you read that right. The renowned Pakistani midlaner, Syed "SumaiL" Hassan, is confirmed to stand in for the Chinese powerhouse, Team Aster, in the upcoming Berlin Major. He will fill in the shoes of Zhai "" Jingkai (also known as Xwy), Aster's midlaner who was abruptly kicked recently.

Xwy kicked from Team Aster in the midst of DreamLeague S19

DreamLeague Season 19 is currently ongoing but Team Aster has already bombed out of the $1 million USD tournament at 11th-12th place. Their performance was lackluster and they didn't seem quite in shape for the Berlin Major.

But while the team was still fighting for their lives in the tournament, Team Aster had already decided to kick their midlaner, Xwy. On Xu "BurNIng" Zhilei's livestream, Team Aster's owner, Xiao Fei, confirmed that the organization planned to kick him after DreamLeague Season 19. A user took to Reddit to share the news.

SumaiL confirmed to play for Team Aster

Team Aster's owner confirmed that SumaiL will fill in the void left by Xwy during the Berlin Major. It seems like Aster had already planned this switchup beforehand. The owner revealed that they contacted Nigma Galaxy earlier on, even before Aster arrived in Serbia to compete in DreamLeague S19.

SumaiL and Nigma Galaxy didn't qualify for the next Dota 2 Major after a rough performance in Tour 2. They even suffered relegation and will play in Division 2 in Tour 3. But it seems like the king will arrive in Berlin nonetheless. Nigma Galaxy also confirmed the news on its social media.

This bizarre lineup will be exciting to watch! This is one of the fewest moments in history where a top Chinese team work together with a non-Chinese-speaking player. There might be minor communication issues and blunt chemistry among the team. However, they have around two weeks to mesh and strategize.

Berlin Major begins on April 26th where the best 18 teams from across the world clash for valuable prize money and DPC points. Stay tuned to Esports.gg for more Dota 2 news and updates.
